The song is about going through hardships and owning them and healing. The song is upbeat and fun but the lyrics are darker. Gaga was drinking a lot and in constant pain because of her hip accident and other things, ariana also went through a lot so now they are healing.

Gaga is queen of catchy songs which is NOT a bad thing at all. It made me super nostalgic because, it reminded me that I’ve grown up listening to her and remembering the stages of my life that I was in when those songs would come out. This just sounds like OG GAGA to me lol 😂It’s crazy how time flies by in no time. This will now remind me of me today some time in the future. Well done ladies, thank you. 💜💋

if it helps you to understand the song better, the song isnt really about love and heartbreak, its about mental struggles and alcoholism - the rain represents the struggles they have so the lyric "id rather be dry, but at least im alive" means I'd love to not have problems, but I'm happy with at least being alive :)
