Artpop has always been and always will be my favourite era. She brought it out too early and was ahead of her time. It wasn't a flop, it was too experimental to be pop. It's also got music for every mood.
I usually don't comment on youtube videos, but you got my attention since I saw your AURORA reaction video and then I've been binge-watching your videos and I have to say: GIRL, if there's right a way to listen to an album or a song, the way you do it is definitely it. I mean, I love how you completely dive into the song and pays attention to small details and tries to understand the construction of it all while you enjoy the whole thing. Keep up the good work. You're the shit!
It’s a pretty good album but absolutely not her best 💀... (critics, charts & the fans knows that) 1. The Fame Monster 2. Born This Way 3. The Fame 4. Artpop 5. Chromatica 6. Joanne 7. A Star Is Born 8. Cheek To Cheek
Is it just me or is ARTPOP like 100 times more popular now than when it came out? Edit: It’s great to finally see ARTPOP get the recognition that it deserves! 💕🎶
+JulioC why do pop fans care so much about damn numbers? It’s about the MUSIC not the sales. I know some people have that viewpoint, but honestly, it just seems messed up to me.
It was ahead of it’s time! When it first came out I didn’t understand it and I wasn’t feeling it. As the years passed I came back to it and it most definitely grew on me. ❤️
She said it herself. How sad! Art need not be labeled as art. People should be able to see how its Art pop. But gaga has spoon fed the concept to her sheeple!
I will 100% STAN Lady Gaga no matter what music she puts out. I've been there since "The Fame" to "Joanne" And I've loved all of her albums. I love just how much Mother Monster can just switch it up and reinvent herself with every album. But "ARTPOP" was always my favorite album, it's heavily underrated and deserved just as much commercial success as the other albums. I don't think it had enough promotion though. Ahh, just so many good songs from that album like "G.U.Y", "Venus", "Gypsi", "MANiCURE", "Sexxx Dreams", "Mary Jane Holland", "Swine", "Fashion!", " Artpop", "Donatella", "Dope"
You can't forget about her born this way album that was the best to you and i, edge of glory, queen, mary the night, that was by far my favorite album of her.
The three main reasons why ARTPOP wasn't a big success was beacause 1) the type of edm sound: It wasnt very radio friendly at the time whereas zedd, calvin harris, alesso, kygo were more of a commercial type. 2) Gaga's team was a mess at that time, her manager quit and there was nobody to help handle the promotion nor damage the control that R.Kelly's and Terry Richardson's sex scandals caused 3) She overhyped it when she called album of the millenium. The media expected for it to surpass her prior success (and also they pitted her against katy perry who was also making a huge comeback) If you mix all of the above, you have a recipe for disaster. Personally, I love that album and I think it's a shame it doesnt have the recognition it deserves.
@@aidang8507 yeah, we should consider the artistic direction she gave to the album. Zedd also collaborated with Ariana im 2014 on Break Free and that song was extremely commercial
Also I swear Lady Gaga was definitely ahead of her time with this album. I feel like if this album came out now, (with a little bit of a change to some of the songs) it would be huge. Def wasn't meant for 2013
Baeby Bear bullshit, that type of “rave pop” was huge back in around 2011-2013 : LMFAO, David Guetta, Avicii, Rihanna, Gaga & Katy Perry all had huge dance infused bangers...
rave pop? the only "rave pop" (if that genre even exists) song on this album is Swine and no, rave pop was not huge in 2011-2013. Rave-pop isn't even a thing but acid, gabber and core are popular at raves. Nice try throwing made-up statistics tho.
Pixeled Forlife you’re taking yourself entirely too seriously for a RU-vid comment section. 😹Only used rave pop as a jokey term to describe the type of music that was popular back then. just look at the songs that were dominating the charts that then....edm was thriving, electronic and four on the floor beats and dance heavy songs did well ww and in the states...art pop wouldn’t have been handicapped in the slightest , they songs just weren’t well liked. This time period was an LMFAO world lol 😂
breathin Only if R Kelly didn't did what he did. If DWUW MV was released, it will be Gaga's career killer. I mean if R Kelly didn't.... It would be a big hit (I mean the song is the 2nd most streamed one from the album lol)
It's an experimental album that Lady Gaga was able treat us by giving us the lead single after her hip recovery and when the album was released the lead is the closing track
Joanne is an album exploring different parts of Lady Gagas life. every other album has had a theme and was mostly dedicated to her fans. the fame- the struggle of reaching fame and success . The fame Monster- bad parts of Fame, the evil but discovering her fans and what was created with the fame. Born this way- acceptance and being true to one's self. being ok with your sexuality and exploring parts of your life you didn't know existed. ARTPOP- The pain of being away from her fans and how she felt after the hip injury during the born this way ball which made her cancel the rest of the tour. and Joanne is about going back to her roots, giving back to her family and her connection with her mom and dad. Joanne was Lady Gagas aunt that passed away from lupus and was sexually abused at 19. Joanne I also Lady Gagas middle name.
Justin Pineda Can you be specific? Cuz I like how Artpop is ironically Dadaist, which means that life has no meaning, just like how the lyrics don't really have meaning.
Jordan I'm talking about the albums overall, not the song itself. I get that some songs like Dope have a meaning, but Joanne has more depth in its lyrics while Artpop focuses more on the beats.
Andre67 del rey totally true. I thought most people would have the same reaction to this album as ajay. artpop is the only album I ever got lost in every track
She didn't removed it from the album.she can't do that.she removed it from all of the platforms online like youtube, itunes, etc.ARTPOP still have 15 tracks.
@Madame X Yes.I think she didn't want people to think that she agree with this type of things. She was assaulted too so..But I don't think Do what you want has any fault. It's just a song for God Sake.
Artpop and Witness are so underrated...they are album with EDM-type of songs and people really doesn’t appreciate it...but when The Chainsmoker did it, they were called genius
Kara Susanoo the critics actually despise the chainsmoker’s album, calling it as one of the worst albums of all time. IMO, it was repetitive and lazy, also taggarts’s vocals was just 👎
Manicure is a bop, but literally the song has the line *put your hands all over my body parts* (do what u want (with my taco..oops I mean body) reference
@@maskidle´nowadays’ that album was released in 2013 not nowadays. in that time any verse or line with cursing or non-family friendly content was banned from the radio it could also result for the artist to get banned from the radio stations
@@FR-dr6tuexactly! And ARTPOP was competing with PRISM by Katy Perry and Unapologetic by Rihanna, PLUS a whole bunch of huge global hits by Jessie J, Lorde, EDM was also riding the trendy wave in 2013. Music industry used to be super competitive.
aged... better than the fame? i agree that artpop has aged so well (only because chromatica is inferior) but the fame will remain her at her creative peak and thats on perry@
Thank you for reacting to this incredible album!! ARTPOP is my favorite album by Gaga and my favorite song is Applause!!😂👏👏😘 You are so funny btw😂😂👏😍💕💗😘😘
I'm so excited to see you enjoy this album! It's one of my favorites from her and she always seems to shock me as she touches every single genre. I've been with her since day one as I practically grew up with her music. I remember I used to actually be made fun of, sadly, for liking her music but I always stood up for her as a kid. Although some of the messages were heavy, I thoroughly enjoyed them then and now. So far, I've liked your reactions so you've definitely earned a subscriber. So thank you for this, as a veteran monster I reaaaaaally appreciate this.
I for one, have also been there in the beginning and watched her grow! I too had to defend her and got bullied a little for it but no matter! SHE SLAYS✨✨👏🏻
