Lady Gaga is one of my faves. Extremely talented. Okay, so the to be continued portion would “Video Phone” by Beyoncé. They both were on each other’s album. I recommend lady Gaga halftime performance. You will be blown away. She also has a performance with Christina Aguilera that I think you would like.
GaGa as the waitress in that yellow phone wig is so camp, especially the way she just stands there with that look on her face and no fucks to give, while he’s choking 😂
Gaga has said this about the song and the music video: "Me and Beyoncé really, in this video, we wanted there to be a balance between fashion and camp. So we wanted to do a play on the American flag and a play on capitalism. The inspiration for the Americana vibe was that the song was about being inundated with phone calls." The video for Telephone earned Gaga the Guinness World Record for Most Product Placement in a Video. Talking with NME in 2011, Gaga said the display of these items was not meant to be tone-deaf product placements but references to Andy Warhol as part of a commentary on commercialism in the US regarding technology and information overload. In retrospect, although Gaga believed she and Beyoncé worked well together, the incorporation of numerous ideas left her "brain throbbing", and she expressed a desire to have edited herself more. Many critics, however, found this self-criticism unfair and the video has been ranked in several all-time lists-especially being praised as a pop artifact of its era and a defining moment in the music video's migration from MTV to the unruly internet.
This video is like 9 minutes long The radio edit for this song is much shorter but still good I actually think the video was a little too long melodically. The radio edits about 4 to 5 minutes it's nice and tight. I'd like to see you do Bad romance, Edge of Glory and my favorite Marry the night. Always good to see you
I'm so late to this reaction, I know it's a year old, but the 'one costume change too far' was her referencing Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" look from her video when she's out in the desert. Why? I don't know. But that's what it's a reference to.
Great Song and Jonas Akerlund is brilliant. I, do, however, find this video so overblown. In addition to Gaga seeming awkward here, the video buckles under its own self regard. Not expecting subtlety per se, but less obvious symbolism perhaps
Gaga actually wrote this for Britney Spears. Britney’s demo is pretty good and not far from this, but her record company wouldn’t let her release it. There’s a good bootleg edit that combines Gaga and Beyoncé’s version with Britney’s demo that you can find easily on RU-vid. You should check it out
Cinematic Music Videos that actually tell a story, make sense and Actually Entertain are rare, this falls into that exact category 🤩🤩🤩😀. As others have commented, Video Phone by Beyonce ft. Gaga ,is the continuation of this song.
