When Lady Gaga first came onto the scene, people used to say she was a man because she wasn't traditionally beautiful in the way that most pop stars are. That's the reason for the comment from the police in the beginning and the slightly gratuitous crotch shots. This is when I really started to gain a lot of respect for Lady Gaga. She almost single handedly dismantled the reign of bubblegum pop, and the need for perfection in pop music. She was also one of the few pop stars that could sing live at the time, and honestly, still is. She wasn't afraid to get ugly or take risks. She wasn't afraid to challenge transphobia/homophobia. She was a breath of fresh air, and gave me hope for the future of pop music. Also, Beyonce has literally never looked better than she does in this video, IMO. I love the Betty Page hair on her, and the wild makeup.
I agree with your perspective. Gaga's todays Madonna, BUT Gaga is a true MAJOR vocalist, classically trained at that, pianist as well. Check out her tribute to the Sound Of Music during the Oscars, thats when I knew Madge has nothing on Gaga. This is the sequel to Paparazzi, where Gaga basically survives her boyfriends attempt at ki_l_ling her. Beyocés glasses at 08:07 - 08:10 are from the exact scene where Gaga rejoices in unaliving her bf, in Paparazzi. Where they took 09:21 from. The Mugler outfit 05:03 coupled with the MJ move straight into the Kill Bills P_us_sy Wagon, Where Beyoncé awaits her, the breaking of fourth wall when Gaga looks at the camera after she just made up the nonsese 05:50... The "cook'nkill" Recipe... The Telephone hat, piss yellow hair contrasting the Diner background like a Warhol painting. The Americana/capitalistic theme, the interpretive dancing, Beyoncés Bangs and leotard, the whole Thelma and Louise.. Pure unadulterated Camp. Great reaction Sean, If you want, theres a few videos you may like, besides the one you mentioned, You and Ï Judas Marry The Night Paparazzi Alejandro Anything from The Fame Monster and Born This Way, I highly recommend. Gaga's Peak. Fantastic reaction.
Omg im so glad you reacted to Gaga! You should definitely check out her discography! Here are some recommendations from her: - Aura - Swine - 911 music video - G.U.Y music video - MANiCURE - Government Hooker - Electric Chapel - Venus
def need more beyonce reactions its LONGGG overdue like i need pretty hurts, haunted, drunk in love, if i were a boy, xo, lemonade, self titled, alien superstar, lowkey countdown too
I really loved this video and the Artpop album too, im sad she evolved in a bit of a different less weird direction over the years but her pop from the 2010s will remain legendary always
This is still my song til this day!! Lady GAGA was before her time! Queen B never fails! Sean have you done No Broken Hearts by BEBE REXHA ft Nicki or Hey Mama by David Guetta?
I always hear this (especially the chorus) in my mind Friday afternoons when it's almost time to stop working and start the weekend (I work in a customer service and speak in the phone _a lot_!) 😂
Ahhhhh, Sean my inner beyhive is sooo grateful for this one lol. No words to describe the impact this song and music video had on my little weird, emo, alternative 13 year old self. 😂 A classic! Loved this so much because I honestly hadn't rewatched in years. ❤
Gosh, I haven't heard this song in forever. It's a guilty pleasure jam for me for sure. If you ever get back into doing Taylor Swift, I'd love to hear your reactions to I Can Do It With A Broken Heart & Who's Afraid of Little Old Me.
*I can't believe no one in the comments section never told Sean that Lady Gaga gave the song to Britney Spears and she did the demo of the telephone but Britney rejected the song so Lady Gaga decided to keep the song for her own and added Beyoncé.*
I like weird and different. Everything and everybody in today's society looks and acts the same. There's no real uniqueness and authenticity. That's what I like about Lady Gaga. Great reaction!
We will never have another Gaga and Bey they are not artists they are legacies which will be remembered for rest of the history and I’m not exaggerating. Rihanna Taylor Bey Gaga Nicki Britney Shakira Ariana will be remembered for the history
The song and video are a commentary on American culture (that’s why they are dancing around dead people wearing American flags) and all the commercials products placement because people always force something on you to their benefits without caring if it harms you or not (stop calling me) she is tired because of this cultural bias.
