Toure interviews Lady Gaga about her writing process, her desire to be famous, her love for Andy Warhol and Madonna, humor in her music, her stance on bullying and homophobia, and more.
When I saw this interview on TV it was the first time I realized what a sweet person she was and fell in love with everything about her. Never stop being yourself, Gaga, you're a fucking goddess.
Such a good interview - intelligent questions and Gaga answers them thoughtfully and with confidence. Love to see mutual respect between interviewer/artist. Favorite! And good god dammit, I love that outfit of hers!!!
That’s me at 3:32! It’s insane that it’s been almost 10 years since this interview (I was in middle school when the pic was taken lol) and my love for her has never wavered💕
Sia has always had a blonde bob. Since she started her solo career (around 1993) and now she's really famous she took the blonde bob as a wig and used it to get a modicum of privacy. The black and white wig has a stronger meaning than Gaga's wig. No hate towards Gaga though. Sia doesn't copy Gaga in anyway. Neither does Nicki. They're very different.
In 2019 it will be those 10 years since this interview. Let's hope she/they haven't forgot about this and she'll be back with him talking about another album!
It's 2020 and I'm thinking about how this interview literally changed my life. I didn't like Gaga at all, but when I saw this, I quite literally fell in love with her and have been a fan ever since
Her confidence is sometimes perceived as arrogance. She is so damn talented but she has a soft side as we all do. Her intelligence, beauty and talent is so inspiring. But so is her heart and her compassion for others and lifting them up. The way she lifts people being bullied. This is what she stands for. So when Madonna puts gaga down with her fake English accent makes pissed me off. Madonna just doesn't get it and she never will because she's too narcissistic. Gaga has raw talent. Writing her own music every instrument she's so talented. As for Madonna saying gaga stole her song express yourself in Born this way I just don't get that. Madonna did not sit at a piano and write Express yourself from her past experiences in life she was giving a demo she liked it and she sung it. Gaga wrote born this way out of her own childhood and being bullied that song came from her soul. I just don't see the connection. Madonna is a name calling bully. Gaga takes the high road and that makes her the better person and teacher by example to her fans. Keep kicking ass Lady Gaga you deserve everything that comes your way ♡♡♡
Very beautifully said and well written, I agree 100% with everything you said. Gaga is truly a beautiful and wonderful person who truly loves everyone and always tries to stay positive even when people around her try to bring her down.
I'm a monster, but Madonna wasn't handed any of her songs. She writes everything, and she co-wrote Express Yourself with Stephen Bray, as well as co-produced.
@@RiordanLadyGaga yh I think the point he was trying to make is that the song was much more personal for gaga than Madonna who just sung the song and couldn’t rlly connect to it
i remember watching this live the day it aired. it was a huge deal at the time for fuse and us little monsters because this was her first national interview after the fame monster CD was released. Fuse understood how much of a great deal this was for them so during the whole week leading up this interview, all they played was lady gaga videos when they werent airing they’re regular programing. that week i was always hyped to get home from school, put on fuse, and watched her videography because no other Chanel was doing it and during that time i didnt have a smart phone to watch RU-vid 😅 btw when the fame monster cd was released, me and my best friend sneaked out of school thru the side door, took a cab to Best Buy, bought her CD and took another cab back to school and no one noticed lmao
I remember watching this episode when it first came out. I gained an appreciation for Toure because he seemed to have some much respect for Gaga and her career and what she stood for.
I became a fan of Gagas in the last five years but have consumed everything about her on the web since 2009! Shes one of a kind and the greates artist of the last 30 years.
I cannot even fathom the amount of articulation she had at such a pretty young age. it all comes from a place of empathy, compassion and love. It's hard to find that in anyone let alone gaga at say 23 years old... puts me to shame! I need to be a better human being!
She's a starseed and here to disclose. Love her. Look behond the videos, look inside Gaga. She's a Healer! And, she wants to take all the pain away from people. She has all the traits of a starseed 100%. She talks about monsters which equals fears to release. Always loved her and today I had an illuminating moment. 🌸💗
I remember this interview. I only listened to her singles and always loved her when I was 8 and heard Just dance then saw this and officially was a stan
She’s the smartest woman ever. ❤️ I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. ❤️💖❤️ she has changed my life for the better. ❤️😭❤️ I love her so much. ❤️😭💖💕💞
I have seen many interviews with Gaga and shocked at how rude and condenscending so many are but anazed ar her abilty time and again to shrug it iff and not get angry or hold resentments, truely a remarkable person.
Such a stupid comment. You do realise that he did a terrific job. He wasn't being rude he was answering questions and giving her a platform to millions of people who may have taken things In the wrong way to explain. The job of the interviewer is to pose questions lightly to let the person respond and explain.
