I think the verses are better on this one, i love the monotone robotic effect, but the chorus and pre-chorus on the other one are pure euphoria, wish they combined the 2
@@mikeya826 well she technically sampled a song that sampled another song. Rocket #9 by zombie zombie is what she sampled. But the original is by Sun Ra.
Venus is just a masterpiece in every version, ofc final version is more polished and finished, but this is great too. It had to be single instead Do What U Want !!!!!!
I once tried to rank all songs, but in the end, I had only 14 songs, but I knew there were 15, and I tried days to find out what it was (why I didn't google the tracklist noone knows xD) until I read another article about He-who-must-not-be-named and then finally I got it. DO What U Want is genuinely the worst song she ever put out. It's completly forgetable and until this day I don't understand who thought of the absolutly stupid idea to replace Venus, FXXKING VENUS, I REPEAT: VENUS!!!!!!!!!! with the utter trash that is Do What U Want. Of all albums I can tell you every song and in ARTPOPs case even sing every song. That I don't remember it at all just shows how forgetable the song is. I am sorry to voice such strong opinions but this is the truth of how I feel, call me ignorant, I prefer seperating artist and the art itself, from that perspective I frankly don't care about R.K at all, I just hate the song and even when I still could remember it (which was like in 2014, when I became a little Monster, because I have lways been an ARTPOP stan, yes, even my 8 year-old self), I now remember that every time it popped up I was annoyed to hell with this song and did not understand how it could be on such an amazing record as ARTPOP. To be totally honest, if I could have given her some tips for the album (as producer, part of her management or something) I would have told her to not release it and instead release Brooklyn Nights, which would have served just as well as a "radio hit" if you ask me, I absolutly do not understand why BN would compete with MJH to begin with, they are totally different songs and have no similarities at all to each other, hell, she could have literally just said BEEP and I would still like it better than DWUW. Sorry for my rant, but the song just makes me angry.
@@nick3805 i love Do What U Want, it's forgettable because she made it forgettable, she made sure to remove every trace of it off the internet, i do agree tho that Venus should've been the second single tho
@@tree7136 I became A little Monster during the ARTPOP era, I always forgot the song existed even back then and thought it was subpar for an Album as amazing as ARTPOP. I literally forgot the song existed from 2014 on until last year. It's not as bad on it's own, but how are you gonna compare it to Venus, Aura, MANiCURE, G.U.Y, Gypsy or Mary Jane Holland and seriously claim that they are equally good? They just aren't. DWUW didn't belong on ARTPOP even if He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was the nicest person ever.
This is fantastic to see how a song evolves from the first ideas to album versions. :) Cause you have to find the good lyrics but especially a very catchy and good melody That's why the first demos are a little bit funny like "Applause" ^^
I love this chorus 100x than the original, it’s so chilling and mysterious, I love it so so so much 🫶 I listen to this everyday on the bus whilst going to school 🤭💕🙏
não fomos nós (público) que flopou foi a mídia que flopou. tanto que nem mesmo a academia (Grammy) reconheceu o trabalho. todos sabemos que isso foi um dos melhores álbum de música pop/dance music de 2013.
i think if she added this vocals from the verses to the official track it wouldve sounded really cool, especially with a tad more effects added to them
Do not believe in every demo showed...Bigger part of these demos aren't real...Is so much easy to manipulate a song and show what you want to the people believe it was the first design of the music
I like this version, the final sound too theatrical and has too many elements that really do not work for me. Plus the heavy bass on the pre chorus is sex lol
Absolutely disagree, the euphoric feeling of the album version fits the song 1000x better, the robotic voices sound flat (how does that fit to a song about love?!). If anything, you should just add the robotic voice to the final version, nothing more, nothing less.
O tom que ela canta é mais baixo, não tem a frase "don't you know my ass is famous?" e nem a parte em que ela cita todos os planetas do Sistema Solar (incluindo Plutão).
