A demonstration showing the essentials of what Brian Jones played. Recorded to allow for Brian's dulcimer idea to be heard without backing. My 50th demonstration. :)
It sounds a bit strange Philip. Somehow not brighter enough in the chorus. Sounds too bluesy somewhere. Not plugged in? That is how I am hearing it. I may be wrong. The first 2 chords in the chorus sound slightly off. Not bright.
Various reasons. 1: I am not Brian Jones 2: It's recorded on an iPad in a bedroom in Scotland in 2023. 3: It is not in RCA Studios, with reverb, compression and EQ. 4: I am not playing Brian's first dulcimer 5: Parts sometimes sound odd when heard without other instruments 😁👍
The chorus is one of the reasons I've held off from doing it until now. It sounds odd on its own. Not to blame my tools, but the intonation for the upper frets of my dulcimer aren't spot on. They tend to be made with certain tunings in mind and intonated accordingly, with compromises made for versatility. Dddd, probably wasn't on the builder's mind.
@@TheBrianJonesResource I agree it does sound different without the guitar or harpsichord. The intonation is what I wanted to say but could not find the word.
