Her lyrics are poetry. Her voice is earthy and real. Her ability to convey her emotion in her songs is almost surreal. Well done. Brilliant musician from a neighboring state.
Just saw her open for Beirut in Baltimore. Wow, she was amazing and I was upset when she was done. She made a lot of new fans tonight for sure. Saw a lot of people buying her CD after the show
This is good, her song, Crane Your Neck, is my fav of hers. The whole song is poetry incarnate but the line "a heart beats best in a bed beside the one that it loves" blows me away every time I hear it. Alliteration is powerful and she does it the full justice.
She is so underrated as an artist, more people should support her work/tickets. I live in Birmingham AL so chances to hear her live are slim unless she comes to ATL but I've bought all her cd's so far! ;)
reading all these comments and finding something like "she needs to take care of her hair" makes me want to die. Aly, you're simply amazing and look stunning! Cheers from Brasil!
Keep'n it real! You have the talent to make it big! I would but a ticket to a concert in a flsh. Come up to Edmonton Alnberta Canada anytime. We have plenty of mountains up near here! See if you can get signed up with the Edmonton Folk music festival!
Hey,she plays a Fender Jazzmaster,a guitar with a fine sound! It's become kind of a NY tradition to play one since Tom Verlaine made Jazzmasters (also Jaguars) semi-famous,mid-'70s,playing one in his band Television(he said he originally bought one 'cause it was then a sadly unloved, unpopular model, thecheapest Fender one could buy 2nd-hand).Sonic Youth,Dinosaur Jr.&others followed Tom's example.Except Tom quit playing one 15+ years ago, & plays a Strat live nowadays. Long Live The Jazzmaster!
Kick at a pillow till it makes you tired, tired Bummed out my whole pack and I gave my fire, all my fire Emptied my pockets, these empty pockets Emptied my pockets and I waited for your call Laid on the pavement, down on the pavement Laid on the pavement with my ear against the wall Stood on the mountain, up on the mountain Stood on the mountain and I called your name I am no savior, I am no savior I am no savior, I am only your dog And I'm all tied up, see how I'm tied up My wrists are bound I am the boat on your dock I am the boat on your dock The more you give me, the more I love you The more I love you, the less you give Are you a predator? Are you a huntress? Are you just a girl? Or are you some sort of bird? Some bird turned lioness? I will bury you between two trees I will bury you with me Let's knock some time off the clock Kill the night, untie my knots all tangled up Let's knock some time off the clock Kill the night, untie my knots all tangled up Let's knock some time off the clock Untie my knots all tangled up Emptied my pockets Laid on the pavement Stood on the mountain And I called your name Empty your pockets Lay on the pavement Stand on the mountain Hear how I don't call your name
