The picture shows a deeper meaning with Dimitri and Claude in the dark and Edelgard in the light and the eagle's black shadow, showing Edelgard's enlightened perspective before the timeskip

Some of the lyrics actually allude to the other routes in the game. SilverSnow: *"They are as snow, melting away yet seeking your warmth if only for a day"* While technically the Church route, these lyrics represent Byleth, the one person Edelgard didn't want to fight due to her respect, and maybe even love for them. Azure Moon: *"The blue moonlight cuts across our sight as pure and clear as a ringing bell reaching for us in the night"* Her stepbrother Dimitri, who wants to continue the status quo, but lead it in a new direction. Verdant Wind: *"As the wind calms my thoughts, I held strong on this terrace I feel at peace, carried away by the wind's song"* Claude's goals are the same as hers, he just doesn't want to kill everyone to achieve it.
edelgard didnt' want to kill everyone to do it either. But frankly speaking it was the only practical way to do it. Claude's way idealistic and impossible to achieve, which is why imo the only true route in this game is Edelgard's route with the other paths being what ifs stories.
@@eternalchamp3882 I feel exactly the same way but it appears that the story writers had different thoughts since Crimson Flower is shorter by half compered to other routes. And also it has a lot of plotholes, questions without answers and character development mistakes. I wish the authors put more time into it since as I said I also think that this is the best route even with it's flaws. And also lack of cutscenes is very depressing. We get only one actual cutscene in the whole Crimson Flower route and that is Edelgard and Byleth killing The Immaculate One. Meanwhile there are 3-4 cutscenes in other routes... And Edelgard killing Dimitri not being a cutscene is just unacceptable. Oh and also that awful Edelgard picture at the end when you marry her. Just what the hell were they thinking painting 23yo beautiful girl that just unified the entire continent and killed over 1200yo huge dragon in the way that she looks like a child's drawing. Well and about that marriage thing you have to figure it out by yourself since proposal is pretty much: "I want you to have this gift" and then El calling Byleth "her partner". They never say that they love each other. Even at the very end it is only said that they were often seen sneaking together to enjoy the new world they created. And in this song and the Staff Credits version Edelgard shows that she clearly loved Byleth with all her hearth. It's all just weird and extremely frustrating to me. But still I love this game, I love Black Eagles route, I love Crimson Flower route and most importantly I love Edelgard. Just wonder how much better this story would have been if developers put some more time into it...
@@slayer7214 i think the reason you see plot holes and unresolved things in black eagles is because you probably looked at it much closer than the others. Because the other routes have even worse plot holes and things that make 0 sense whatsoever. Character development nothing beats the dum weird stuff that happens with dimitri depending on the route. That's literally the worst character development not just in a fire emblem game but i've never once seen a worse written character than dimitri :)) And Rhea is also filled with contractions and things which make absolutely 0 sense. People hated the fact that Fates had a route where the hoshido and nohr combined forces and I would've loved nothing more than this game to have that route and stomp the power hungry lizard together (talking about rhea)
@@eternalchamp3882 Oh shit, bad news for me. I only finished Crimson Flower route myself and saw about 50% of Azure Moon played by my sister and now I'm about to begin Silver Snow (I'm in part 1 chapter 10 I think). And AM seemed longer and more packet with backstory than CF so I checked in the internet how many chapters other routes have and also seen that there are over ten post timeskip cutscenes that I haven't unlocked while only having one CF cutscene available. So I kinda assumed that the other routes are better written. I also read somewhere that CF wasn't planned to be in the game and done only because Edelgard was beloved by community and it wouldn't be good for merchandising the game if she was doomed to betray us and be our enemy (don't know if it's true, that's just sth I've read). All of it made me feel that only CF would have such flaws. But now you say that it gets even worse in other routes... Well I have nothing more to do than to see it for myself. But it's gonna take some time. And I feel that I'm gonna have to play CF after playing any other route to cure the pain of fighting against Edelgard for tens of hours and eventually killing her (which should be the end of every route other that CF since she is ready to fight for her ideals even to her death).

There's another verse that's different from the other variation. In 1:25. In the other version it says "As I live out each peaceful day, deep in my soul, oh, I know I can't stay So I wish I could hide away Hold tight to what I love Keep cruel fate at bay" In this one, it says "I look to you like a red rose Seeking the sun no matter where it goes I long to stay where the light dwells to guard against the cold that I know so well"
As much as I think that edelgard is in the wrong, I understand her pressure, I just think that the way was completely unnecessary, but mabey I'm bias since I played blue lions first
Maybe there is a little bias In my opinion Edelgard is the best option for the entire Fodlan 1 she disbanded the system of nobility, where if you have no crest (that can only be inherited) you are literally no one (fathers disowned their sons because they bear no crest) 2 she wages a real underground war against "those who slither in the dark" 3 she dismantled the church of serios that ruled Fodlan in secret executing without any sort of trial those who dared oppose them The kingdom on the other hand is too attached on crests status and nobility by birth (with a king blinded by his hate for Edelgard) , the alliance (as we can see in one of the optional fights) is a complete mess where nobles wage war on each other to increase their own power with no regards for the commoners on their way and the church is literally an extremist cult where saint Seiros is apparently more important than the actual god they claim to worship (and this counts as blasphemy)
@@EredediIsildur you make extremely strong points, but I have one, rhea So rhea needed more screen time, she for some reason was not in silver snow, and deserves to be People who play black eagles crimson flower usually have a strong hatred of rhea, as blue lions do the same for edelgard I think edelgard lied to us alot, in crimson flower, she said that she put on the war to dismantle the crest system, and while that's good in some ways, I think she lied, and the reason she started the war, was because the agarthans, forced her to, she just had to come up with a lie to Sheild it
@@MinisterChicken she really disbanded the crest system and is obvious that it was the truth because of her backstory, due to the experiments made by the prime Minister she hated crests and the fact that in order to have an heir with a major crest his 10 siblings had to die so that trait of her personality it's motivated not just an excuse for war came out at the last minute Edelgard as flame emperor despises "those who slither in the dark" saying that they are beyond salvation when they are the only ones listening, there would have been no point in saying such a thing in that situation, it could have been really dangerous And least but not last i don't hate Rhea, every time i see her i experienced great sadness because she could be better but she chose to be a tyrant who sentences people too death too easily

She refused even to listen what they had to say (by the way, that clean up looks like exterminate everyone who follows him and bring him to me that i want to sentence him to death myself) about Miklan I've never had any problem about him because he died in battle (but if he was captured alive and the relic taken back from him are you sure he wouldn't have been killed? By the way his story is another proof that the crest system is rotten an causes nothing but pain and sorrow) If we were like sylvain our would would have remained with the feudal system like the Russian Empire (solve nobility problems talking for an entire continent just a fantasy, there's no way that all Fodlan's nobles can willingly refuse their status and privileges) Those who say let's talk about abolish nobility, let's not escalate this usually are those nobles who want to maintain the status quo The point is simple, if the ruler is reasonable you can reason with it if it isn't you have to overthrow it by force and Rhea was all but reasonable
