That's the live orca show to watch, in their natural habitat and not in a tank. I liked that she respected their space and removed her paddle when they were near. I think these beautiful creatures appreciated it as well and gave her a private little show. Loved it. 😊
I admire her board and Paddle skill so much, her good cheer in that joyful dress and the consideration for the curious mother orca who seemed to take a good look at her as well! What an experience! Please stay away from SeaWorld and all animal shows feature g captured wild animals in cramped environments!! That circus mentality will soon be a horror of the past!
You could literally see their excitement as they saw her approaching. This wasn’t their first interaction with her. Amazing how gentle they were approaching her closely but never bumping into to her paddle board. Such intelligent and majestic creatures!!
@@SDSen Yes! There is literally NO accounts of an orca attacking a human in the wild, just accounts of them helping humans. They are such wonderful animals, I wish they were on the endangered list because they need to be.
@stax its a wild animal with a mind of its own and a capability to end your life in an instant. There maybe no known attacks in the wild, but how long have we been keeping record? They used to think chimps were harmless to humans, but we now know how dangerous they are. Just Look at the sea world girl. She was murdered by that orca. A bear can kill you an eat you, but they cant murder you. To each their own, they’re fascinating creatures. I wouldnt mess around though thats all im saying.
@@all_bets_on_Ganesh You are ridiculous. Those orcas were being cruelly treated for decades at Sea World! It's just like the stampeding elephants at the circus and finally they snapped and said no more. Orcas are smart and sweet natured unless you enslave them and make them perform eight times a day and feed them small, old, stale, frozen fish. It took them decades but they finally revolted. So...a bear can't murder you but an orca can? You seem to have an abnormal dislike for orcas and I don't trust anyone who hates the kind and beautiful orca.
Indeed, it is a plain normal lady! This is extremely rare near California for they are usually incredibly dumbs and ignorants near the US coast. It all change though when you cross the northern border where most people are normal. I think she is Canadian!
E ci va col vestitino pure..... 😂 Fantastica pure lei..... Così sicura che non ci va con un costume ma vestita... Tanto è il suo equilibrio... Calma....
Makes me smile for a lot of reasons, the gentleness of these giants, the woman getting her exercise on a sunny day, the responsible drone flying that made sure to stay clear of her in case of mechanical failure, and of course the amazing footage. Thanks for sharing it.
I couldn't of kept standing and diarrhea would be all over the board. To get back to shore would be a miracle. Lol...it helps to see her so strong. I would want to be amazed, but.....hmmm..no.
@@madison9582 well no, I don’t speak Orca. I’m going by the way they gently interacted with her, posing no threat to her. I’d say she does this daily or near about. But again, just my opinion.
@joe smath going by her approach, I'm thinking this isn't her first trip. It's the same as scuba diving, base jumping, parachuting, Just getting in a car each day. You put yourself in harm's way every time you leave the house so what do you do, stay home and never experience anything or take your chances and have this amazing encounter? It looked like these guys are regulars anyway by how they reacted, or in this instance, didn't as people expect them to. She put no one else in harm's way and if they responded differently and that's how she wants to go out, so be it. Her choice. Would I do it? No. But I've jumped from planes, scuba dived, Bungy jumped and so on. I'm 56 now and tamed down since becoming a mum but for 20+ years, I made the most of every opportunity with awesome memories, just as she no doubt has.
@joe smath oh, and I'm sorry but the last time I checked, you can come on here and say whatever the hell you like. You know, just like you did. Irony at its finest.
I heard about this orca named "Luna" who unfortunately died from his injuries after coming in to contact with a boat propeller. So no, they're not always aware of where every part of their body are :(
@@rsuriyop yea... that’s a boat propeller. I can accidentally hit a fan but I still know where my hand is. And that’s without knowing whether the boat was moving, which makes it much easier to explain as humans get hit by cars all the time. Ever try to to rest a bubble on your finger or anything with precision?
I love watching these orca encounters -- even though I'm incredibly jealous of anyone who's had one up close with them. If I was this woman, I'm not sure I'd be able to resist getting in the water with them. Swimming with orcas is definitely on my bucket list.

@@boxingtone If that's the case then people should paint messages on the bottom of their boats like: "Stay away from boat propellers" and "Stay away from ships with big red flags".
First of all this lady is the bravest ever!! 2nd of all - absolutely amazing moment caught on camera. I’ve watched it like 3 times because I am in disbelief at how they never even send a ripple of water her way. They know to be gentle! I love Orcas. They’re so smart and emotionally intelligent. Love seeing them in the wild where they truly belong. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I NEVER AFRAID OF ORCAS, THESE ARE THE TRANSIENTS AND I LOVE BOTH THE TRANSIENTS( MAMMAL EATING ORCAS) AND THE RESIDENTS (FISH EATING ORCAS) BOTH ARE GENTLE GIANTS AND DO NOT ATTACK HUMANS. AH WHAT A LUCKY LADY. I WISH IT WAS ME!!!!!!!!!
@@sethgold2048 I agree. I wish it was me too. But I know if I was out there alone on the ocean and those big beauties showed up, I’d get shook. Lol. Even though I know they have no interest in harming us- their size would scare and amaze me all at once. Lol.
I saw that!! Absolutely amazing footage. I’m so fascinated by Orcas and their interactions with people in the wild. Thanks for sharing such an awesome video.
@@mschristophersclass4149 That was what amazed me with this video, it’s almost like they’re even being conscious about how they move the water. They don’t even make a ripple near the board and they very easily could, it’s as if they’re even swimming gently to avoid affecting it. Amazing creatures!
That is one brave lady! To be in that much water without a life jacket, and then to be so nonchalant about animals that big swimming around you when you're on a paddle board, amazing!
I wonder if they sense how delicate we are. They always seem very gentle w/ humans, in other videos I've seen where people are "playing" w/ wild Orcas. They never seem to get rough, as if they know they could hurt us very easily.
I agree with you. What makes it even more remarkable is that when orcas play with each other, they do get powerful, though without ever hurting each other. For something so large, they are also remarkably precise in their movements. But if they played with humans the same way they play with each other, they would do a lot of damage. The gentleness is all the more striking when you see the awesome power they can turn on when they choose to use it.
Yeah we are delicate creatures who have overspread and to a large degree altered the planet like no other species in Earth's history. Our strength is not in the robustness or size of our bodies, but in what we can invent and carry-out as cooperative groups. And it is for that reason it is ultimately to their own benefit that Orca do not consider us as food and treat us with restrained curiosity. If they didn't and were universally perceived as a threat, they would have been wiped-out by us puny humans long ago. I am glad they were not.
@@juliew1426 It would be fascinating to know what Orca think of humans? After all we have both shared the seas for centuries now. Maybe they put us into a special category. The story told in the documentary "Saving Luna" certainly provides food for thought.
Gotta love how carefully the Orcas were not to touch or shove her. 💕 She was just as careful with her paddle. I would have gone to my knees as soon as I saw them.
It’s amazing how much spatial awareness they have… not touching the board not even a little!! They are truly majestic creatures… beautiful, calm & graceful exploring their own world and allowing the paddle boarder to be a part of it too… a real wonder!!
@joe smath yes they are Apex predators that do not hunt humans. They are mammals not fish like sharks are. There has never been a reported attack on human from wild orcas. Captive orcas can be dangerous because they are confined which is not in their dna. They need to travel in the open ocean with a pod because they are social and like to hunt for food. Divers swim with them all the time. They can be jerks to other marine life because they teach their young through play even though they don’t always eat their prey. They are the largest species in the dolphin family.
@@Christ_Is_Life10-10 amen. Someone telling Mr Smath that every one of his whinging contributions on here are landing on deaf ears. Seriously Joe, you need to get out more. Besides, they like to eat seals and the last time I looked, never saw one wearing a pink dress.
2:28 The way that orca glides right underneath the board without causing the slightest ripple or wobble is indicative of how sensitive and mindful they are of our fragility it's incredible. That said, if you were to start this clip at 3:51 you'd be forgiven for thinking they just took a chunk out of that board and she's paddling for her life back to shore.
Yes ! those images are use sometimes for stupid people ....... and give wrong ideas about animal life and behaviours , Hopping no one use this video starting at 3.51 minuts...
Orca 1: "Hey, there's our hooman! Hi, hooman!!" Orca 2: "It's pitiful how crippled they are. Poor thing can barely float, and she needs a stick to get her around. We must be kind and patient with them."
Amazing how they glide on their sides and try to not hit the paddle board, it baffles me! Such intelligent creatures! They know a slight bump would capsize the paddle board, wow!
What an awesome video! They are so powerful but graceful at the same time. One miscalculated flip of the tail would’ve knocked her off the board. I’m so fascinated with the Orca and how intelligent they truly are!
I think she was a little scared. If you notice, she paddles out there fairly slowly, but as soon as she encounters the orcas she starts to turn her board around and she quickly heads back towards shore.
All cetaceans seem to treat us the way we treat kittens or puppies. Very gentle and cautious to avoid causing injury because of the size difference, and with positive interactions. It's crazy how perceptive and also benevolent these creatures are.
They're just saying good morning to that lady . And she sees them there , passing under her paddle board , they're huge , sleek forms . But the paddle boarder is utterly unconcerned . She knows that those Orcas won't harm her . Amazing .
@@toms5612 That's the awesome (but scary as hell) info that makes you appreciate these species even more. Yeah they *can* hurt or kill you if they really wanted, but they don't, the entire wild population of this species on the planet seems to have a cardinal rule not to attack humans or things associated with humans for some reason. I'd love to know how/why that happened, and what else we can find out from them if we learned how to communicate.
@@OGFox-fp1hb ... and yet they do attack and kill people in captivity. Maybe keeping Orcas in fish bowls makes them crazy. Maybe they know it's the humans keeping them there.
I was in awe of her lack of fear , she is definitely not one of those, me included, that would have silly thoughts like - just my bloody luck if their starving! I'm amazed the Orcas did not tip her off the board just to play with her! Does anyone know if the occasional bad ass Orca exists due to upbringing , perhaps due to fish or seal shortages, bad tooth pain etc, just a thought?
Not even one bad wild encounter with humans in 50 years anywhere in the world. All these videos on RU-vid and not 1 attack, bump, nibble, smack of a person. Not 1 capsizing of a kayak, paddle board, surf board, canoe, etc. Nothing!! Just recently some younger orca near Spain damaged sail boats but no humans. Recommend you look up Roberto Bubas videos in Patagonia. He’s a park ranger and he walks into the same waters where orca beach themselves to catch seals and he pets them! And they like it!
I think it's amazing the connection we have with them dating back thousands of years. Orca and Vikings used to fish together along with other ancient fishing cultures
I see an animal that is highly intelligent, more smarts than most humans. We need to take care of our Oceans, and I think they are trying to tell us that
Calm down y'all, orca do not view humans as a food source. Certain ecotypes only eat certain prey species. These orca either prefer fish or marine mammals. Not people. If anything, they're just curious.
I might have had a heart attack at first thinking it was a shark. I’d still be cautious to respect them but so relieved and excited to see it was orca!! I love this animals, they’re my favorite by far!
Fantastic. I've had dolphins play under and jump over my board and a Humpback swim under me. You can see how the Orca's are part of that playful clan too. THanks for sharing your vid!
No matter where in the world these orcas are they seem to be able to know the difference between land mammals and ocean mammals (dogs) they just like to hang out and say hi.
Thank you for your teaching. I learned it in half an hour. I bought the Marnur paddle board, which is being discounted by 50%. It is very cheap and stable. I recommend it to novice players.
Absolutely amazing two gorgeous creatures that size at moments literally just a foot away under the paddle board (at least it seems)….what a blessed memory for this woman.
I'm sure this stat is still accurate, but there has never been a deadly attack from an Orca to a human in the wild. #closeseaworld #banseaworld This footage is proof positive how beautiful Jah's creations are..... its US humans who mess everything up. Tk u amazing drone operator for this wonderful video!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥰🥰🥰🌊🐋
I believe that you are correct, but it's a little concerning that there seems to be a spate of orca attacks on small craft in the Atlantic area from north west Spain to Gibraltar, some videoed.
Magnifico!!!
Gracias, gracias, gracias. Saludos desde MÉXICO. Los quiero mucho a todos.
. . . that is only when you take yourself too seriously . . . your life - as every other life - is finite and after it there will follow Trillions of others . . .
NOT SCARY BUT ADORABLE CAN T U SEE IT , THESE BIG DOLPHINS HAS NO INTENTION TO ATTACK. NO REASON THEY ARE NO LIONS, WOLVES, DOGS , CROCODILES, SHARKS OR BEARS. THEY ARE TRANSIENT ORCAS 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 The MOST INTELLIGENT BEINGS ON EARTH AFTER HUMANS.
I love Orcas, they are literally my favorite animal on the planet. I would love to believe all the wonderful things mentioned about them in regards to never showing aggression towards humans. Having said that, each animal is it's own individual and has it's own personality. While this is a wonderful video and obviously an amazing experience by this very fortunate individual it was not without a huge amount of risk. I have seen a video of a man paddle boarding off the coast of Southern California I believe where the two female Orcas began nipping at the board. Thing is they probably meant no harm but they are huge animals and Apex predators who in a moments notice can make a decision to do what ever they wanted.
Willie Moore, Understand your caution but consider this: In nearly 50 years of intentional & unintentional interactions with wild orca throughout the world, not one single fatality has ever been recorded. Only one recorded bite in 1972 and the surfer survived. Prior to that records are scarce but no recorded attacks on humans that I’ve ever read. 50 years of kayaking, paddle boarding, open ocean swimming, snorkeling, free diving, scientific research, fishing, among them but only One attack & ZERO deaths.
Always remember an Orca watching tour I took in a RHIB off SE coast of Vancouver Island one beautiful summer day. Arrived at area guide thought would be good, shut off the engines and within a minute or two a pod showed up - magnificent creatures. What I’ll never forget was this what looked to me like a young adult came right within a couple feet of where I was and just hovered there on it’s side looking at us. Looking into that eye I had a sense of looking at a very intelligent creature looking back at me. It stayed there for a couple of minutes then moved off to rejoin the pod.
This is fantastic! What an amazing experience.....I'm the "What if Gal" So I see this woman is equipped with just herself and her paddle and board out in the ocean. Even on the lakes of British Columbia I've been pulled over by the police on the water to check if I have a life vest, a whistle, flashlight and tow line, OMG!!! Yes I dumped my cocktail !! So..... moving forward......how does one decide to prepare and be calm with such an amazing experience????? I love this woman's calm energy!
Wow! I helped look after 2 untrained orcas about 50 years ago which had been captured and held in a large pen on the West coast of B.C. They are gentle to humans. Incredible footage. Where was that ?
I am pretty sure I would never get in the water with an Orca. The nice friendly music in the background makes it seem safer. I wonder if they played the theme from jaws how the Video would feel?
they actually are, their behavior is pretty much exactly like wolves in the wild, however they are even more friendly to humans on account of them being marine mammals and all marine mammals have this odd soft spot for humans, theres even reports of whales and orcas defending swimmers from sharks
Она не отчачная она просто знает что косатки не нападают на людей 😊 вот если бы там вместо косаток была акула то эта дама гребла бы оттуда со скоростью моторной лодки 😁
