Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to the 9100 block of Omelveny Avenue for a reported structure fire. First arriving companies found a two-story home with heavy smoke and fire showing. Firefighters went into the offensive mode to attack the fire. The fire largely affected the 2nd floor but also had extension into the attic as well. A neighboring residence was threatened but was protected by firefighters. It took just over a half hour for 38 firefighters to extinguish the fire. Four patients were assessed for smoke inhalation but weren't transported. Cause is under investigation.
