Hey Folks, Today on the bar we have a new offering from the Lagavulin Distillery with the 11 Year Old Offerman Edition Caribbean Rum Cask Finished Single Malt Scotch Whisky, this sensational summer dram is a very interesting scotch with lots of sweet notes and Islay peat. I am usually not charmed by celebrity tie ins, but i just couldn't resist try this annual release. Maybe it was FOMO, maybe it was just being a slave to trends, but I am truely excited to share this dram with all of you. With this release be the best dram of the summer? This is a solid dram as were all the other Laga 11s! For all their gimmick with the labels and the marketing, I'm happy the whisky is good. I've tried all four so my line up would be from best to last Charred Oak, Rum, Guinness, initial release. Cheers mate for the review 🥃

Thanks for the comment! You are the 5th or 6th person to recommend the Charred Oak. I must try to source one out if it's not too much work lol. Sounds like a great one. This rum Cask finish is almost gone and I will need yo secure another bottle. Cheers.

Hi Chuck, thanks for the comment. Had the 8 a few weeks back and enjoyed it, not as much as this release or the 16 but it was more complex than I thought it would be. Will be work towards a proper review of the 8 in the future. Cheers sir.

Love this one. I think enjoy the previous a little more, but the rum sugar and softer Lagavulin peat certainly work well. Cheers!

I bought a Lagavulin 16 last night but I have a bunch of these on our bar! Delicious! The Charred Oak is my favourite Offerman Edition!! 16 is bliss even at $200 with taxes!! Cheers!! 🙂

Thanks for the comment Christine. The Guinness release has my interest but the charred oak sounds great too. The 16 is a classic for sure, but I think I’ll put this release of the 11 on par with it. Cheers.

@@SeawayWhiskyWire The 16 beats it for me but I respect everyone's palette. For me the 16 is elegant and refined.
