I do not necessarily think, those type of areas are safer. When I have been in Nigeria I have stayed on the Island in Lekki which is quite up market. Nice houses with large gates and security guards to protect them. Outside the 4 walls of their houses no one walks anywhere. The area is like a a ghost town. However, when I stay on the mainland, everyone walks around including myself without a care in the world. The perception that being behind gates is safe in Lagos is not necessary the case. As a foreigner maybe that's the perception they have.
I went to nigeria recently in december through january the island felt really safe and I was out and about near Victoria island around 6:00m but at the same time my family friend who has another friend was able to get weed around 3:00 am around the victoria island axis. There security chekpoint around the island comapred to the mainland
@@osazuwaogbeide1540 Around that time on the mainland it is deserted as people are in bed. Also the mainland does not attract armed robbers as they are the middle class and working class members if society
@@Magarita810 I seen fight near the military base near the mainland so i would so the island is more safe. When i wa son the isalnd they were checking peoploe with security sticks when people enter into teh hotel also you have to put your electronci through a machine which was not present in most hotel on the mainland i notice
As much as I agreed with some comments here about how expensive the house is. For those comparing house in Lagos or Africa to houses in USA or England where most of the houses are build with wood or vibe, board
The truth is,Lagos state especially the Island used to have some security challenges, but things have improved. This area housed all the rich and famous people in Nigeria, Ranging from musicians to top class business men, governors, etc. The different between the mainland and the Island is that,in the mainland, people are free to move around irrespective of who you are,but in the Island you have to be security conscious. You cant move around anyhow, even the person next to your house may never know you throughout your lifetime. I am a Ghana but i have been living in Nigeria close to 20 years in Lagos, its a nice place, infact there is no different between Ghana and Nigeria.
@@Da_Champion ..Busy body, she was born and raised in Europe so she has seen it all. She never said Ghana is beautiful so why the fuming about she not saying Nigeria is beautiful? Okay Lagos is beautiful than Miami. Infact nigeria is the most beautiful country in Africa, I hope that solves your wahala?
Hello. Just discoverd your channel, nice what you do. Beautil spaces, too bad that Africans associate being modern with everything that look European of just western. We have beautiful material in our countries and continent but always want what doesnt look like what we have. Iam sorry if my English not that good, I am a french speaking person. Have a blessed day
Beautiful place it is I just wish oneday all of Nigeria will be like that as it is a country were you see the difference between the rich and the poor !! Now that saddens me because that country has the potentual to make everybody to live a healthy social lifestyle but reality shows this is not the case hope you dont feel I'm being doom and gloom negative 🤷♂️🙏🤗😏😂😎
Looks nice to me...I would move there. They have some shitty looking places in America so they don't have the right to criticize other continents about anything.
This is shitty compared to any remotely new house in most of our states. I could rent a penthouse suite here in PHoenix for $3,000/mo and let me tell you it wouldn't look like this bland piece of crap. You see videos and think you can slap on some colored lights and automatic curtains and Americans will snap this up for any price. Bahahaha! Rich people here are rich for a reason. They're not sinking their money into basic nothing ass properties that are WAY overpriced.
For the money, those rooms look so small and the quality of the kitchen counter tops and appliances do not match the price point. The gym is horrible. I have seen better gyms with amenities such as a steam room in apartment complexes that are similar in price and I live in the expensive part of Florida. I would assume you are basically paying for the security. However, the area looks fantastic.
@@myafricanchild4491 As a Celebrity of what? I guess if you want to ensure that you are secure you can live in a gated community or Condo that has building security that can help you feel secure. I also guess that you can hire a body guard to walk around with you, all though I feel as if this would be highly unnecessary. There are plenty of rich people in America that walk around freely without security. I want to address your comment, " How much will I have to pay to live the expensive part of Florida?" What do you mean? My comment of me living in the more expensive part of Florida means that it is more expensive than other parts of Florida such as; I live in South Florida (Fort Lauderdale--Miami area) which is more expensive than Northern Florida (Jacksonville area) per say.
@Upblackrace Westafrica LOL, What are you talking about? The price is very high and why are you so angry that we are asking about the price? That is what we are suppose to do if we are researching places to possibly purchase property. Ignorance is not bliss. My money did not grow on trees, it was and is made by hard work and not to be wasted just because someone doesn't feel like I should not be asking questions. Plus, I wanted to know because the average salary for a person living in Nigeria is 205,000 ngn ($57.00 usd) to 907,000 ngn (2519.44 usd). It seems as if most of the people living in this development would be people from outside of Nigeria since it is such a large complex. By the way, black man land affairs and white man land affairs: what that does that have to do with a pound of beans related to how much the condo cost..SMH
You guys always complaining, may be because you don't make enough money. I pay $2,700 a month for a two bedroom apartment in Woodland Hills, Calif USA. I will gladly pay $5000 to live in that building with all its amenities!
I hate a society that doesn’t care about the poor. Banana island is rubbish if we don’t do something about makoko and all the slums In nigeria. 80-20 ratio of poor and rich is unacceptable and we gotta do better.
Right,okay....great to see the inside of an over-priced block of flats in Lagos Nigeria. Now let's get back to the reality of the economics or rather the social reality of over 70% of Nigerians and, what percentage amongst its population can afford 5000-6000 dollars per month on less than 2 dollars a day ?
Chidube Ogbonna. There’s something that’s called class so that means there are many people that can afford it easily. 70% of any country cannot afford the best of that country. It’s like saying 70% of Canadians can afford to live in downtown Toronto or 70% of Americans can afford to live in Manhattan. Those places are for middle class and wealthy people just like Nigeria. It’s not everything you have to criticize. There’s a budget for everyone, you just need to look for yours
u ppl always complain there no good thing in nigeria, when u see one, its hard for u to admit, its either u say its expensive or to to compare to london. abeg we are nigerians, and we love it, the richest black ppl in the world live there. so stay in yr london. leave our naija for us
I live in Ghana 7 yrs n I m living in Nigeria from last two yrs .beleive me Nigeria is very very different country n plz if anyone want to come Nigeria plz plz think 100 time ..Ghana is awesome country housing is awesome I m living in banana
Lmao! Nigerian RE is every bit as inflated as any major world markets IMO. Ironically, those properties still hold strong investment value, b/c someone will buy.
It is because of proximity and space. Lagos hosts most of the country's corporations head quarters. It is like finding a neat place in New york city. Any hole in the wall will cost you an arm and a leg.
Positive for Nigeria in many respects, although high price point. People should not always criticise.Rome was not built in a day. Most of these stuff are owned by Nigerians unlike many African countries. Only advice is developers should look long term and create value rather than wanting quick recoup of capital and profit.
Thanks for pointing that out Johnny, way too expensive. I live in the Back Bay Boston and I pay less than $6000 in a very luxurious apartment that is far better than this smh
@Afri Media looking at this fool talking like an idiot that had never even been to Togo.....you think America is where people would just shoot you like that all in the name of trumpist
@@fazjam thank you sis...I live in hyde park Boston .....you are just 25 minutes away from me. ..........meanwhile some idiots are here talking shit like I dont know what iam talking about
Luxury in Africa is the basic living standard for Europe and America. Luxury in the west is living remotely with few human interactions - which can easily be achieved in Africa by going to your village. Everything is backwards 😂
Very True. The most expensive places to live in Nigeria are not that aesthetically pleasing per se. They just have in them big houses but the environment is similar or less than an average area in America. The annoying thing is that they are mad expensive.
sahvannah F you are basically insulting yourself ever say everything is backwards. The west is boring most people here are dull socially. Stleast in africa there excitement and community because in the west people are materialistic
We Africans need to be easy on ourselves. It’s not everything you have to be negative about Africa. I think slavery and colonialism have made Africans to be negative towards anything black. People are ready to criticize Dangote that he is rich because he’s enjoying a monopoly but so quick to praise Bill Gate. Banana Island is for the very rich and it’s not for an average person so comparing to places in the west when you know you can’t get anything of the same standard in Manhattan or downtown Toronto for the same price. Show me anywhere in those places that’s unfurnished and as big and nice in Manhattan or the best places in your so called west. Location is what sells properties not the structure itself. The plot of land alone costs more than $1 million dollars alone in Banana Island and that’s why the place is so expensive
all his beautiful houses that we have just seen God only knows how many we were built with clean money, how many human sacrifice is made every hour in Nigeria so that people are rich, be very careful not to envy his people, to love yourself as you are because many who have big houses cannot sleep there they are tormented by impure sprits, because ill-gotten gains never benefit. pity for Nigeria
Lol! That's hilarious that you guys compare everything to the land cost in New York. There are beautiful properties on the beach in S Carolina, N CArolina, Texas, California, WA State - ALL more beautiful with better building materials, finishes, security, space and no one is 2 feet away from their neighbors! You can get a 5,000s.f. house in Atlanta with a three car garage and amazing furnishings for $400,000. I would pay 800/mo top for something like this. You guys watch too many videos and think a couple of sets of colored lighting and automatic curtains is enough to draw rich inhabitants. I notice the properties are mostly vacant. I'm sure this is just the 'American' price. But I bet you have no Americans renting/buying for that price. Rich people here, got rich for a reason. They're not going to waste their money on overpriced trailers. smh
@@michelletaylor4298 good comment my sister, Nigeria thinks for the African Dubai yet it is the country where many poor homeless people live, the embezzlement of public funds the satanic rituals to enrich themselves the illicit practices to have money made believe in the person that Nigeria is a rich country which is very false, let us be very careful with what glitters, because all that glitters is not gold, let Nigeria know that money does not necessarily answer to everything on earth.
@@elroysquare2527 Yes, but some get to the point where it doesn't matter the price of something. A price reduction doesn't matter to them, they will just pay for what they want, where they want it.
The Company starts with a high price and if they find no tenant then they will reduce the price. And in Luanda the prices are also very high and the Companies there managed to find tenants.
Lagos is safe i am tired of nigeri narrativea as not beings safe i been to nigeria eight times and i never flt on edge maybe withe xception with traffic other then that it not as bad
For which land? You go pay btw N70-250million for a plot cos of landscaping. You can do that in other states not Lagos. I love greenery too that's why I could never spend the ridiculous amount they spend on property in Lagos, I would do a US or South Africa instead. Better still, buy my land and build but getting a plus size land in a secured estate in Lagos is another challenge.
$50k/per annum 🤣🤣🤣, e better you buy landed property with it and build a benefiting choice of house on it to your taste. I’m jus saying 😉😉😉😉 Nice one ☝️ though. It’s pretty cool 😎. It’s beautiful. Good job well done 👍
Wow nice big up naija, proud african.this is what we want to see in africa development, world class infrastructures.im from south africa but im impressed by this island one of the best in africa
I’m not Nigerian but I found too expensive for this small house; I think they put more money in the street than inside the houses 🤷♀️A part from the street 🤔there’s nothing that catches the eyes 👉No decorations inside the house, very small space for the price ,seems dark inside the house, the ceilings are low,I wouldn’t buy this house even if is the best city. But I liked your video.so well done for your great job 🥂🙏

It's extremely expensive, but I can see why? The rooms are quite big, than rooms in the UK. But then again, I can rent a two bedroom apartment by Allegro development for £1200, and it's fully furnished... and in the City Center.. of Birmingham UK. Hi pretty woman! i think i will now suscribe to your channel, u doing a great, i have a suggestion, what about traveling the continent showing infrastructures, hotels and businesses so as to promote tourism, we can support if needed, cant wait to see u in east Africa as well.
An average condo in toronto everything that place doesn't have. Location location location. You can build a fancy apartment building but it the community that needs to most work. Rich people make boring neighbors.
Then go to the slums you think life their is better I rather live with boring neighbors than neighbors who causes nuisance... you hardly hear crime in this part but just try and go to mainland that is when you will understand
Hmmm, the apartment looks bland, limited kitchen units and appliances don't appear to be top-class to warrant the rent! Also, built-in wardrobes look poorly built; where is the hallway? Please show the lighting/light to externals, trees and plants.
İt is interesting to see the development in africa, but i really dont like the idea that you have to pass two check points to enter the area of a place where rich People live.
Hey hun im watching from USA AMERICA im an American born and raised. Im planning to leave the USA for good i really want to move to Banana island its more of my speed you said in your video, you have a friend that's a developer there. If its not to much to ask how can i contact or whom can i contact there regarding buying a lovely home there. Thank you for sharing i really enjoyed your video keep up the great awesome job Thank you👏
Nija like big names, money without focus. It doesn't worth the price, no interior and cheap closest. The developer needs to fired, you see the TV wire hanging out in that room?? That's a mess:-(
The apartment building is totally overpriced. I can tell you one thing about Nigeria. They can build but when it comes to maintenance it’s zero because of their nonchalant attitudes and corruption.
Many Kidnappers,Thieves, killers waiting for you at your GATE in other part of mainland and island. My father's friend was killed last year in LAGOS,Nigeria when he was coming back home from Island Club. My father's friends was from USA,retired from Government job in USA.

Honestly i don't see anything there that warrant such amount of rent pay month, talking about security won't the residents drive out go to work, school etc, or is it only at night bad thing happens? the interior doesn't look that polished to me neither the roads outside looks polished , the only thing they boost of is constant power supply finish.
The swimming pool is definitely not 50 m. 50 m is olympic size pool and 25 m is what you typically get in leisure centres. I was guess that was 20 m or so.
Nice video. The Island is not well lighted at night. It is overrated though. There are areas better in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. What Banana Island has is the rich. Nothing more.
I still see a hint of colonialism in the design. They need to let that go and let them color flow in the architecture need to reflect Nigeria as well it does NOtT. It’s look bland...rather boring like something I will see here in the states.

You can walk around in almost 50 estate on lekki alone with security code to gain access. The only difference is that Banana Island is the most expensive estate in Lagos state.
It looks a little bit too commercial for me; and for that price, they can make better use of space. They went over board with some of the security features as well. But I get it. Thanks for sharing..
