I showed my mom (A beautician for 63 years now.) the Laifen dryer in one of your videos last year. She bought me it for Christmas. It is the best dryer that I have ever tried on my hair. I am her worst customer/biggest challenge. I have thin/fine hair and I love it! Thanks for sharing this product.
I have had a Laifen hairdryer for a year and a half now. I absolutely love it! My hair gets dried without feeling fried. I had a blowout with a Dyson, and I think the Laifen is just as good. The feature I like the most is the one that cycles through the 3 heat levels without having to do anything! I love the color, the look, the weight, and the ease of use.
Never thought I would spend that much money on a hairdryer. Bought the Laifen for a bit more than $115.00. Love it!!! So quiet and light! Also started using a mousse again per your advise. Huge difference in my hair!❤ will be getting dryer for Christmas gifts.
Hi Justin, I bought the Laifen swift hairdryer. Ive wanted a Dyson, but was not going to spend that kinda of money for a blow dryer. I’ve used it 3 xs now. I can’t believe the difference in my hair. I have a medium Bob, course slightly curly hair. I can get it straight and not need my straightener, and NO frizz! I really love it
I have done the Dyson Laifen comparison too. I have 2 Dysons, the main one I use and the 2nd is a spare for guests. Well, the first time I saw the Laifen talked about on your channel I went to their site and bought my pink one. I loved it so much that I bought a second one in white. Personally I think the Laifen is better than the Dyson. I love the LED lights to show temperature, the magnetic cap on the filter, the great choice of colors (I'm shallow! 😂), the price even without a discount (I got both with discounts), and the way my 73 yr old hair actually shines after use! I've been telling everyone about this dryer including my hair stylist. 👍🏻 (By the way, I'm selling my Dysons! 😊)
I thank you for your comparison video on Laifen vs Dyson it certainly gives me a lot to think about Thank you also for your honesty which I find so refreshing.
Great video as always! You were unbiased in your analysis of both the pros & cons of each dryer. I am assuming that Dyson came out with their dryer first followed by the other. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If this is indeed the case then Dyson spent buckets of R&D $$$$$$$$ on developing their product which in turn added to the hefty price tag! If the other company took several ideas from the Dyson dryer, tweeked it so there were no patent issues - I have no doubt that their product is priced less! They didn't "fund" the R&D - DYSON DID!
I didn't even know my Laifen would switch between hot/cold if I kept the button pressed.... I learned something today! I have to say, I really love my Laifen - it's way quieter than my previous hairdryer and my dog is thankful for it because he's scared of hairdryers...
I got the Dyson for the attachments. I have lots of thin wavy/frizzy hair with lots of flyaways and their attachments make a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE for my hair type. I know you mentioned most people won't use them but really I use them all and they are amazing. One of them even lowers the temperature by 20 degrees but still has the power to dry quick which makes it also great to blow dry my dog (we live in a wet environment).
Hi Justin, thanks for this comparison video. I bought the Laifen based on your previous video and it works like a dream! My hair dries so much faster than with my old standard dryer and is less frizzy. I still use a standard brush dryer to straighten my hair (trying to use a dryer and brush is a disaster for me). Hopefully Laifen will develop a brush dryer in the future.
Thank you Justin for this very honest review … I’ve been going crazy trying to find the right hairdryer for me. Having long hair the thought of blowdrying has always been the special treat I left for the visits with my stylist but I realize now it’s just improper tools at home that make the job so awful! I’m sold on the Laifen Swift! Thank you ❤
After purchasing both, I'm recommending Laifen, for me it was waaaay better results than the Dyson, and it's lighter. I returned the Dyson. Btw I got the Laifen pro on black Friday for 150€ so 50% discount. I'm Soo happy with this blow dryer. And I like the color functionality that shows what heat set you're on. Laifen aaal the way
Thanks! I recently ordered a Dyson and it’s out for delivery right now. I got a great deal at $329 however after watching your video I also ordered a Laifen, I will see which one I keep! Great video as usual!
Love my Dyson but would probably have happily spent less money if I had known there was a comparable alternative. Yes, it is a huge splurge/indulgence but makes such a big difference in time spent on my hair, less time, less heat means healthier hair and happier head!
I considered buying a Laifen but a lot of reviews have the same issue: The hair dryer stops blowing hot air after a short period of time. So, I used my credit card points and my Sephora loyalty perks and bought the Dyson. Fabulous hair dryer for my wavy/curly hair. But yes, not going to lie, it is freaking expensive. I did want a blow dryer for travel, though, and don't want to drag along said expensive hair dryer...so I'm risking a Laifen now, anyway, as someone sold an open box item on eBay. Got it for a steal so, if the worst *does* happen, I won't be too angry financial wise. Waiting for its arrival. We'll see. If Laifen can improve upon the issue of the heating coil going and extend the cord (another minor complaint I've read), it seems Laifen really could be a relatively cheaper (relatively, as a new unit is still over $100!) option for those wanting a Dyson but not willing to pay such a steep cost for one.
You know I love my Laifen! I love that the Laifen used less heat. Less damage on my dry, color treated hair. I didn't know about cleaning the filter so thanks for that tip!
Hi, thank you for the great video! I just had one question- Will some hair types benefit from the higher max heat from the Dyson? i.e. would a blowout last longer? I'm very new to these dryers. I tried the Dyson very recently when I visited my mom for Thanksgiving and it was mindblowing. I just want to see if max temp matters for longevity. I have fine thick wavy/curly hair, medium length, and the dyson really impressed me. Thank you!
Your review has helped me understand the difference, Justin. I hope you could do a video on how to use attachments both with Laifen and Dyson hair dryers. I am a newbie when it comes to this and having your expertise would shine a better light on how to properly use it given your credentials.
Thank you for this review! I'm just waiting for my BaByliss to crap out on me so I can justify buying the Laifen!!! I've been wanting one ever since you first reviewed it! And you are so right about cleaning this thing! Oh and how about the plastic attachment that flies off the nozzle in the middle of drying! 😮 My birthday is in a few weeks, and my husband is fishing for ideas, so I'm going to drop a major hint by sending him this link! 😂
Thank you for the great information about these two dryers! Two questions for anyone who knows the answer: -- 1.) Has anyone found that the Laifen has the same reliability (lasts as long) as the Dyson? I'm a new cosmetologist and would like to get the longest life I can out of an appliance, since it is a business investment. 2.) I've heard that the cord is noticeably shorter on the Laifen than on the Dyson. As a stylist I would think this would get in the way of working all the way around the client's head without hitting them with the cord. What do you think about this? -- Thanks for your advice!
I regret buying a Dyson. It has a serious flaw. My first one cut out from overheating after a few months and my second one is starting to do the same after a couple of years. I won’t be buying a Dyson ever again.
The first time you reviewed the Laifen hairdryer, I went to their website to check it out. I joined their mailing list and from time to time, they have specials and drop the price even lower. I do have a question. I have very thick and wavy hair. Have you tried the Laifen on thick, coarse hair? That highest temperature setting feels a little wimpy for my type of hair. Curious what you think! Great video!
Great question! And yes, it works fantastic. The heat setting is lower like you mentioned, however, the amount of air pressure offsets it. I think you’d love it!
I have thick coarse hair and the Laifen does great at drying it. It isn't so much the heat, but the air that is moved and it is so nice not having the bathroom heat up (along with me) while I dry my hair. I got mine last November and love it.
@@howellomaha Thank you... Yes, I can overheat simply blowing out my hair. I keep the bathroom door closed for the noise, but then I can't breathe. And the men in my household don't understand why it takes so long to dry my hair and why I have to heat up the whole house...
On 7-28-23, this hairdryer is on sale through their web site!!! 🎉 So I got it. Can't wait to try it. Thanks for the review. I love Dyson products but think they are over priced.
Thanks creating this video. My dyson broken outside of warranty. They told me they will not fix and Dyson corporate won't give their repair department the parts to fix it. They want me to spend another $350 on new one. I think I am going to get laifen instead. Do they Dyson attachments work with Laifen?
I got a Laifen from an earlier video of yours. I love it! I got the attachments also. It is so fast. I think you are paying for the Dyson name as with all their products.
Thank you so much for the trust! I agree, Dyson is very innovative, and their products are top-notch, and a little bit of that price comes for their name I think.
I don't know safa blow dryers lol but I follow another channel that was promoting the laifen so I decided to pick it up for my girlfriend who's never had a fancy blow dryer before.. Seems like I made a solid move excited for her to receive it especially after the one she did have went out on her (was old but not fancy)
Just discovered your videos, thank you for all the info you share. As someone who can do the bear minimal to my hair is there a blowdryer or tool you recommend for fine but easy to work with hair? Im looking for a new one! Also is there a tool you would recommend for taking with on travels like to Europe for easy styling hair?THank you so much
My hair is destroyed from bleach BUT it’s my understanding that the Dyson, while on any heat temperature, will automatically cut off and won’t ever burn your hair. I have a Dyson Wrap and wouldn’t trade it for anything. The Dyson did not destroy (lol) my hair, I DID. In the process of NOT bleaching and finally going to a fantastic hairdresser. The Lauren is kool. I want the lightest dryer there is. The Air Wrap by Dyson is like a long pole. Comes w a host of attachments. I can’t imagine using any other type of dryer.
But are the attachments interchangeable?? I own a Kaiden and need a concentrator… I can’t find it sold separately, but I can find Dyson ones. Will they fit??
I bought the Laifen dryer at your recommendation. I contacted the company two days after it was delivered to let them know I wanted to return it. LAIFEN CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD NOT LET ME RETURN THE DRYER! In fact, Lafein customer service would not answer my emails (the only way they can be contacted) once I notified them that I was not satisfied with the dryer.
Could you do the comparative of the CLIVIO Hairdryer and Laifen and DYSON, because i saw a person talking about these 3 saying that clivio is a great competitor but, is less heavier than dyson, i mean... i would like to have something that is not so heavy, but i need a more professional review.. and other perspective.
Can you use the Dyson attachments in the Laifen dryer? I have Dyson for home and am getting the Laifen for my salon but I’d like to use the Dyson attachments. Just curious.
I ended up buying mine through Amazon brand new I’m making payments on it I have five months before I paid off . I received it in the mail new tried it for the first time I turned it it on the hot setting and It tripped my breaker I could have it on low heat and cold and cycle and it don’t seem to bother the breaker but as soon as I turn it onto the heat and it’s on for a little bit it trips that breaker. I hope I didn’t make a mistake of buying something that’s going to crap out on me hope my spelling is readable. I’m using text to speech and you know how that goes when you’re spelling stuff for the text speech I have trouble with my spelling.
Funny you say that. I've actually seen the same thing. If you don't use a modifier (the attachment that controls airflow), and pay attention to where you're directing the air, it can definitely do that!
Please tell the truth about the Airtecho which is often in Best Hairdryer lists but has a polemic public review war going on praising and proclaiming scam
Really enjoy your vids and learn a lot. But dark shirt, dark background and darkened lighting combine for a very difficult to watch vid. Please consider the visual effect next time. Even with my display turned all the way up it was not easy to see detail. Thanks.
