The fact she start her music carrer like a joke without realising her potential, but with this type of music video I think she's realising her potential now

The prelude in the beginning sounds fire too 🔥. And she did it with GarageBand!!! You dont need fancy equipment, expensive DAWs and plugins, etc, to make great music.
right the 80s the vibe😍💗💕 IMMACULATE the aura I live for it!! when I pictured a music video when I fist heard it I thought 2000s, Aaliyah, tributes to the 2000s especially the beat hearing the beat🛸🩵
It's actually giving more late late 90's early 2000's for not so rich people. I was born in 96 and this is how I remember things looking in my early memories in like 01, 02
That was so good 90’s classy chic throw back style NY girls way the phones the Chanel style dress with the gloves the hair blowing in the wind also giving traditional NY at night style it was so beautiful to see !!!I loved this video it gives a lot of confidence for the younger girls today and the middle age girls too !!
When I found out she’s Mos Def’s daughter that’s when I knew I could trust her as an artist. Can’t wait to see her grow further into her artistry, she’s done so well for herself and did it all without depending on her dad’s name- only her own. I know that’s right black girl. KEEP WORKING HARD!!!! GO BLACK GIRLS GOOOO!!!!❤❤❤❤
right😍😍😩80s!! the vibe, the aura I liveeeeee😍 when I pictured a music video when I first heard it I thought 2000s, Aaliyah, tributes to the 2000s especially the beat hearing the beat
I'm leaving my comment here so that when someone decides to leave a "like" I'll get the notification and remind me that I have to listen to this work of art🔥✍🏽
I was born in 1990. She nailed the aesthetic. Those late night commercials, the Miami/retro theme and the see thru N64 on the crappy TV that you would have to slap the side to fix the screen sometimes. And that outfit screamed 80s/90s style. Also "Throw in a VHS"
the aesthetic (i was born 1990) is also early 2000s mixed with mid to late 90's. And this was legit what i grew up with, right in NYC where the video starts. I fucking miss it!
I love this! I keep hearing the remix on the NY radio stations. But this original version is awesome and i love it more. This song is very uplifting and thank you for showcasing natural beauty ❤🎉
This track by laila is pure fire! Because laila caught the advice I shared on my channel about how other artists are blowing up, laila is now unstoppable.
