Boy did this one take me back…Watermelon Moonshine is all about that young, wild, and crazy love. It’s the love that makes you feel like you’ve got somethin really special that can’t ever be taken away. Filming out in the pasture brought me back to those days and made me feel right at home. England here. I love how this song encapsulates a moment; a feeling, one that isn’t specifically confined to the US. When I was that age , my friends and I would car share and head to the woodlands, get a few campfires going, pick up some drinks. And I can relate- that situation at the time feels so precious that it MUST be acted upon. It is truth. Now- looking back- the truth is that I was learning and it is precious (for me) because of the niavety and of the journey discovering what love is. Love this song- have it on my favourite play list.

This is your Best in my opinion. I didnt know who you were before I saw you and heard you sing this one on Yellowstone. Must say it brings to mind my first experience with moonshine. ❤ it's the real good song! I first heard it on an episode of yellowstone. Which Lainey played an excellent role in. And actually played that role in a couple different episodes if I'm not mistaken. But it's crazy on how the melody of her song, strongly reminds me of Craig Morgan's "that's what I love about Sunday"! Not trying to take anything from her. But it's probably fair to say, that she might have borrowed a couple chords from him. Bottom line though! And not that she's got anything on my special someone! Yeah, Rick Beato just reacted a Top 10 country list… and this is the only one that caught my attention. I used to listen to country back in the 80s and 90s… but really haven’t much since then (except for all my old music). I did stumble on Sierra Hull though and really like her (bluegrass mandolin phenom). I also stumbled on a country rock band called Blackberry Smoke that you can rock to. But the pop/rock radio-type of country these days all sounds the same to me and bores me.

No other song gets me the way this one does, Lainey. It hits home. My high school sweetheart and I went our own separate ways 53 years ago. We are now back together again after his wife passed away and I divorced both after 50 years. We never forgot how we fell for each other and how in love we were. Your song encouraged me to really think about life and how quickly it goes by. Thank you for this song. It gave us a second chance. It’s never too late.

9:37 am Woodbury TN- sitting here thinking of my teen years back in Harlan County KY right now. Makes me cry those days I had it made and didn’t even know it.
