While I think this song is inspired by Deana's Strawberry Wine, I think this is Lainey's take on it. It's not surprising since Deana is one of Lainey's heroes. Deana's father was guitar legend Fred Carter Jr. He was born and raised in Winnsboro Louisiana. It is the seat of Franklin Parish. Lainey was born and raised in Baskin Louisiana,which is just 4 miles north of Winnsboro. Deana lived in FP for a while as a youth and still has many family members living there including her brother.She has long been Franklin's favorite daughter. Lainey is now that for a younger generation. And, interestingly, about 12 miles south of Winnsboro in Extension, LA. is the home of Kix Brooks. Kix has done great things in Franklin Parish including his yearly benefit for the Princess Theater, a venue that Deana played just a few months back. Not bad for a little Parish of less than 20 thousand people. And, yes I am a lifelong resident of FP. I went to school with Lainey's mom, I know Deana's brother, and share some mutual friends with Kix. We are all very proud of all 3 of them.

Lainey is such a breath of fresh air to country music her style and voice is amazing wish this young lady much success and hope she keeps country country

My watermelon moonshine moment led to 3 children and 30 years of marriage and counting. This song and her voice make my heart ache with the memories.

I pretty much gave up on country music, I listened for years until country music became a mix of genres and talent that left the country sound behind, but after listening to Lainey I have some that country music still exists! I love her country voice and the stories she tells!
