Oh what a wonderful video my family is from Altoona and of course we never celebrated any holiday without having LaJo's ravioli, and imported deli meats and cheeses. What a beautiful family.
We went there after church on sundays back in the 1950's. The owners were young then. The wife was indeed very friendly, hard working, and full of dignity. The husband was very handsome and back then had a big smile for everyone!
My grandmother and Julia were good friends. She lived in the yellow house on the block. I can remember them being on the phone for hours at a time ! Julia treated me like part of her family!
Nice video! Years ago, my best friend was one of the Santella's and practically lived at their home (above the funeral home) and would frequent over there for lunch meats/food/drinks and she was always there. Great memories! Edit: even being around the Santella family, I learned that Italians love their food and know how to cook! I miss those days for sure!
