A great fly with 2 different versions, not just for the Lake of Mentieth but works all over. Given to me by John Booby Buchannan yonks ago and using the Hare's Ear and Gold Angel Hair mix, makes it shine like an olive colour in the water.
Top Pattern
Hook: - B100 Size 10-16 or Barbless Equivalent Definite Advantage ones
Thread: - Black Sheer 14/0 Thread
Butt: - Dave Downie Re-Spooled Fl. Orange Floss
Body: - Hare's Ear or Squirrel Mixed with Gold Angel Hair
Wing: - Shuttlecock or F-Fly Style 3 or 4 Natural CDC Feathers
Thats is Very Simple and Easy, but deadly ......

Hi. Thanks for the video. I wanted to ask you how you manage with size 8, 10 and 12 hooks slipping from the Dyna king jaws? I've got a barracuda and have purchased a brand new jaw from Dyna King but find that, no matter what I do, the jaws struggle with holding firmly size 8, 10, and to a lesser extent, size 12 hooks. Ive tried different positions and noticed you've got only the very tip of the hook secured in the top of the jaws. Can you offer my any tips? I love my vise but the slipping with these sized hooks drives me mad. Thanks

Sorry for teh late late reply just noticed it there, I have the Supreme now and im struggling to mount the hooks the way I normally do, the vice in that video is the older vice in action my squire so smaller jaws. with bigger hooks on the supreme, size 12 and above i now locate them in the groove iin the jaws, hope this helps

Great looking fly. I will have to try this one too. What time of the yr and what does it imitate ? How does it differ from Stripped Quill CDC Shuttlecocks - Hot Butt.? I fished this fly and could not keep the fish off it. Thxs for the great fly fishing info. You make us all better fishermen Irve

ive caught coarse fish on pheasant tail nymphs esp the one on my channel the perdigon one with the black spot behind the the thorax, had some big chub on it also
