LAKE COMO DAY TOUR FROM MILAN
FEATURING THE BEAUTIFUL VARENNA AND BELLAGIO.
We rode a train from Milan Centrale Station to Varenna Esino (1.5 hrs approximately). The direct train usually leaves once per hour.
From Varenna Esino, we explored the ancient, narrow alleys of Varenna’s downtown, the instagrammable Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi’s Botanical Garden (both you need to pay entrance fee).
Then from Varenna, we visited Bellagio (The Pearl of Lake Como) via a 15 min. ferry ride. We immediately headed to our bucket list place / street “Salita Serbelloni” and just stayed there for a while admiring the beautiful view. Then bought some local wines and souvenirs, and dined at one of the restaurants at the pier before going back to Varenna again to take the last train going back to Milan Centrale (whew).
A very tiring but unforgettable surreal day 🇮🇹
