Following up on Volume 1, we return to the LE&E at the mid-century mark. The transition era, now in full swing, brings new types of first generation power to the Boston-based trunk line as venerable steam locomotives, even if still relatively common, are further replaced.
Footage from the heavy traffic LE&E passenger and freight mainlines out of Boston, the sprawling Cincinnati Union Depot complex on the Ohio River, the LE&E's CCFtW&C subsidiary in Ohio, and much more are represented, as well as brief cameos from few other railroads along the LE&E right of way.
