Nice catch! I'm from California and was visiting some family there last year. Really wanted to do some striper fishing, but didn't know where to go or what to use.
Thanks for the view. The majority of the local lakes here contain a healthy population of stripers. These fishes are nomadic and may hold in different locations of the lake during the year. It never hurts to try tailraces of dams if accessibility permits. As far as baits, you can emulate the local forage or you can castnet for them and use as livebait.
get some gizzard and downline planar board troll the main channels stay in about 50fow stagger your downline in 5' @ 15' to 30'. slowly drift troll barely keeping planar boards taut only.
did the planner boards work? seems like the down line worked better. how fast were you guys trolling? new to the area, any help is much appreciated, thanks.
Sorry for the late reply, we launch out of whittenburg and oxford ramps and that decision is based on bait availability ATM. We fish anywhere from freelining the surface to the bottom. Find the baitfish and the methodology will be self evident. Be safe out there and enjoy.
Awesome video! I really enjoy watching your vids because they are full of entertaining content. I liked and subscribed. Keep the videos coming. If you get a chance, check out my upload from earlier tonight of some amazing underwater footage of a bass on a bed. If you like what you see, drop a sub. Thanks!
