I was there when the upright boat sank. It was summer 1998 and the winds were very high. The family of four on that boat couldn't handle the winds and it took on water and started to go down. My family was nearby also being tossed around but our boat was a lot bigger and we were able to go over and get them onto our boat. We took disposable camera (remember those?) photos during and I'm sure we have those stashed away somewhere. I will never forget that day.

@dipinmylip1171
@dipinmylip1171 Год назад
@@werenotfree6412 Just speaking from what we've seen with our local reservoirs in western Colorado, it has primarily been mismanagement, and overuse from local ranches. Our reservoirs here are nearly depleted by July 1st due to ranchers watering grass nonstop to harvest hay. What really bites, is that our town residents are only allowed to water on certain days, during certain hours, along with other stipulations, all while they watch local ranchers flood thier fields daily and pump thousands of gallons of water per hour 24hrs a day during the summers until our reservoirs are almost dry because they have "water rights" handed down to them.
@AnneBibby1966
@AnneBibby1966 Год назад
@@werenotfree6412 I think it's many things. History shows us this earth cycle happens naturally. I also believe we as humans have added to the process. It effects us greatly. All these droughts and worldly happenings are going to cause food shortages this coming year . Everything we have this year (Grains) was from last year's harvest. I've been paying attention to all around the world as it effects us all in on way or another. I do love this channel for bringing this information to the world it's so important. Lake mead supplies many states with water. My thoughts are what happens if it dries up?
@werenotfree6412
@werenotfree6412 Год назад
@@dipinmylip1171 I'm not trying to be rude in any way. But for some reason can be taken as a little harsh for asking questions. Are the ranches producing some sort of food source or are they purely recreational? Are you willing to give up your lush green yard until this can be figured out?

Tbh, they blew up way before that.
@i-witnesstransparencynews7857
Some of that came from the local news running their stories on the channel's documenting the water level which was before the collab with Heavy D Sparks channel. I had stumbled upon the channel when their first video on the water level was going viral on RU-vid and hit my recommendations. Shortly after that I saw the news stories from the local news media in Vegas and some in nearby California followed by their helping the gentleman with the stranded houseboat and the Heavy D collab and they continued to expand in their internet virality. That's how it seems to happen with content creators though. If they are creating and publishing consistent content they will continue to see an increase in numbers opposed to those who might upload here and there and just so happen to upload a video that unexpectedly goes viral and they try to keep pace with it but it will fizzle out as they are not used to creating similar content consistently. It's very interesting to watch, and I've seen many channels from having subbed to their channels early on go on to become viral sensations that have managed to stick around for years to come and grown even beyond RU-vid entirely.

You have a couple awesome kids man! You guys do a great job bringing interesting content. I hope you guys can continue to grow and jr. can do this kind of stuff for a living for the rest of his life. He’s really good on camera. Also, you guys single handedly built the marina business to probably even pre low lake conditions. The girl that was working seems like a sweetheart and she’s a cutie also. Just think you may end up being the reason someone goes to the marina,asks her out and then gets married! 🤣🤣 never know what kind of good stuff you guys have set in motion.

Senior, I don't know if you realize what a positive impact you and your two sons have on so many people. With the many things happening today to discredit and tear down good morals and masculinity, it makes me so proud to watch you 3 and your interactions with each other and other people. Your integrity and level of respect for humanity and God's creation is front and center. I'm so glad I stumbled across your RU-vid, and I follow Jr on Instagram. I even found myself down the fishing aisle in Walmart the other day looking at the fishing rod with fishing kit your sons used in your last video showing us how easy it is to get out there. Thank you for that! Please don't stop bringing the fishing videos, you are doing a great thing for our nation and I'm pretty sure your reaching others across the world.

What I find really interesting is the terrain exposed 18:52 as the water recedes. It’s showing terraces and levels that makes you think about how the ground was laid down before the lake existed or how the land was affected by the creation of the lake. Is there already or can you do a video on the creation of the lake? Thanks for the videos! You all are wonderful people.

I know lake/river sediment is great for plants, but I agree, it is ironic to see grass like that in the desert.
@timsmothers8740
@timsmothers8740 Год назад
The grass is coming up from the recent rains aka monsoons that have been happening and also it has helped keep the water level stable for the next week unless some more rain comes down, and the Toads come out of the ground because of the moisture from the rain. They can stay under ground for years waiting for the rains come !

I,remember watching a 100 mile water-skiing marathon that was taking place on Clearlake in Lakeport California in The Mid 80's. 1st time ever for seeing that,and seeing a person Water-skiing with the attachment around the waist so as to not have grip handles for a couple of Hours!
@TimDBarnett
@TimDBarnett Год назад
@@timsmothers8740 actually for safety one grip rope was longer than the other and they wrapped the longer one around the waist so one was held straight out in front and the other grip was against their belly so if they went down they released both grips. That way they don’t get dragged by the boat at 70 to 90 mph. Some of the best Catalina marathon skiers do excess of 100mph from Long Beach to Catalina Island and back, and are back in about an hour, some slightly less than an hour. Usually marathons are around 21 miles.

Two reasons why the area around the upright boat isn't growing. 1. human traffic around it 2.The boat collects heat from the day(100 +) and burns the grass out. Just my thoughts! Love the videos

I will join the many people commenting on the relationship between senior & his boys; it’s amazing to see. Hopefully, if there are any dads watching this who don’t have the same kind of relationship with their kids, it’ll inspire them to change that. The main thing I learned when my boys got into their late teens early 20’s, I didn’t have to always try to teach them something; just hanging out & enjoying their company. Watching them discover all the things we all discover at some point in our lives. For example, when you get that first real job, realizing you basically go to work, come home, figure out what you’re gonna eat, relax for a couple hours; then rinse & repeat. Lol. Great content; hope you continue to do this for years to come; look forward to seeing junior with his son/daughter joining in sometime in the future.
