Missed you guys. I am a 63 year old guy who really enjoys watching your videos. What gets me about you guys is how respectful and family oriented you are. I watch with my 35 year old son and think family time is so important. I really got hooked on your channel when you started posting about the drought and Hoover dam. Thanks so much for bringing a part of your life into ours here in Naples, Florida. By the way, my name Mr. Buongustaio means Mr. Foodie in Italian. Haha. Thanks again and may God bless you all. ❤

Missed you guys! I’m not a fisherman or hunter, but became a fan thru your Lake Mead content. You have a true gift of showing the beauty of our western USA along with presenting teachable moments about water issues and the environment in general. Glad you are finding a way through the bureaucracy around filming again at Mead.

i, also, got interested in the lake mead content. i'm not into hunting, not much into fishing, despite living in the upper peninsula of michigan, which is really huge in both areas. opening deer season (november 15) is like a national holiday up here. i do enjoy your content. it is nice to see father and son doing things like this and including family members. always nice to see people who have goods relations with their close relations and close friends. don't see that too often.

Just as long as you guys know, it’s unconstitutional for them to charge for prime that it’s in public and it’s our constitutional right able to film out in the public doesn’t matter if it’s state land or federal land. If they call it a public recreational area it’s out in public.
@johnbeaudette583
@johnbeaudette583 Год назад
they have you thinking you need to ask permission to do something you're already allowed to do and has been established in court. Do not play there game. Go film in public and if they do anything, then you sue them, put them behind bars for 2 yrs there are multiple options. Cheers

I love this family. You can tell that they really care, not just for views. If more father's were involved with there son's like this guy, we could reduce underage crime and stop losing are youth to the bad influences that are everywhere. These young men are being raised right you can tell just how they act on camera. It's refreshing to see this kind of content out there.

I'm originally from Orange Calif. I still remember what it was like from the late 60's through the 70's. You guys bring back so many memories. My father was always the guy that could catch the fish no matter fresh or salt. We would camp at the places that you guys show on your videos. The Colorado between Blythe and Yuma was his favorite. Those were the best days of my life as a kid being exposed to that life. You guys do an amazing job.. Most will never know how the ball really rolls. God bless and keep y'all safe..👍🏻👍🏻🐟👍🏻🐟👍🏻🐟👍🏻🐟👍🏻🐟

That sounds crazy to me that you’re not allowed to film. Correct me if I’m wrong, Americans have freedom of press, and this is a form of journalism.? Listen....nobody needs ANY permits or permission to take photos or videos in public, on public land...period. That is constitutionally protected activity, proven many times in court. Just do it...if arrested you will be able to afford a much nicer boat later!!
@judyd1
@judyd1 Год назад
@@wangfury You can be fined hundreds of dollars if your photography is deemed for a commercial purpose, like RU-vid income.
@wangfury
@wangfury Год назад
@@judyd1 All you have to do is say, "I'm an independent journalist, working on a story, filming in public." Period. And, yes, anyone can be an independent journalist, no credentials required and that activity is protected by the Constitution. These guys are filming as journalist, doesn't matter if you make $$$ from it. Many government employees don't understand this, and they often call law enforcement. Luckily, most police have been educated about public filming and back up the journalist. Otherwise, if arrested, the journalist will latter cash in with a civil lawsuit.
@judyd1
@judyd1 Год назад
@@wangfury Ask Brandon Straka (walkaway movement) how that worked! Hint: filmed J6 from outside the building. Second problem: you won't be dealing with the police; a park ranger will issue the citation under federal law. Unless you're a Democrat; then, go for it.
@wangfury
@wangfury Год назад
@@judyd1 Well, yes, J6 enforcement is fueled by Trump derangement Nazis and completely unconstitutional, but freely filming public parkland is clearly legal without permits or permission, as long as it's not for commercial use...movie production, etc. A journalist arrested will ultimately win damages in court and set a precedent against future abuse of our rights. Keep filming...do not back down!

Sorta the River around this time of year 700-1000 CFS, the River during the massive flood event was at 45k CFS. Luckily with everyone knowing how the river rises and falls around here people do not build homes where the River gets too. The Park they were at is completely destroyed and needs to be remade again. But most of those RVs and campers are people who pay space rent and live in LA, they just come up and have a spot right on the river front.

The permit rules in the National Park System is ridiculous. The permitting was NEVER intended to be for small production companies or people filming for small project. The permit process was created for LARGE MOTION PICTURE PRODUCTIONS where large crews, multi-vehicles and excessive production activity which very often caused an impact on the environment in shooting locations, but it was never intended to be applied to YOUR TYPE OF FILMING. But, as is ALWAYS THE CASE, the government found a way to suck more cash from American citizens, so they started charging fees for even the most simple filming of they could in the most abstract way call it COMMERCIAL PRODUCTIONS. I was photographing my son and his fiancée prior to their wedding. We were at "Bowl of Fire" and my wife and I were taking photos of my son and his fiancée sitting on a rock, when a NPS Ranger showed up and asked if we had a permit. He was hateful in his attitude. He acted as though he had caught us breaking windows out of cars instead of just sitting on a rock taking family photos. He said he did not believe we were just taking family photos, he believed we were shooting a commercial photoshoot. He said my camera was a professional camera and he did not believe what I was telling him. I had to show my ID and my son showed is ID, fortunately, we both have similar names. Had we not had similar names, I am absolutely certain we would have been thrown out of the park. He asked if I was a professional photographer. I, wanting to be honest so I told him "YES! But I am not shooting professionally today, I am just taking family photos." He seemed angered by my response and after viewing our IDs, he appeared to be RESENTFUL at the fact he could not prove we were doing a commercial photoshoot. I don't understand this kind of attitude. Because I was using a professional camera? What if I was a Doctor and just bought expensive cameras, would I not be allowed to take photos, because Rangers feel my camera is too professional to be used by an amateur? I had that same conversation with the City of Las Vegas when taking photos at the "Welcome to Las Vegas!" sign. I have been a professional photographer for 50 years, 47 of those years in Las Vegas. dizeman.com I remember when the permit process was enforced PROPERLY and was used ONLY as it was originally intended, on LARGE FILM PRODUCTIONS, so I resent very much the NPS hassling small productions, wedding photographers, people using photos and videos for their Social Media platforms. It is simply another way to suck dollars from the average guy's wallet. YOUR TAPING A CONTINUING DOCUMENTARY ON LAKE MEAD CONDITIONS AND FISHING DOES NOT HARM THE PARK IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER AND DOES NOT COST THE NATIONAL PARK SYSTEM A DIME, but they abuse the privilege of serving us by robbing our wallets any way they can. We pay TAXES to fund the NPS, we pay ENTRY FEES to fund the individual parks, unless we are doing some harm to the LAND, AIR OR WATER by filming, there should not be any fees to just take photos or video. My son was out in the middle of BLM land when he was 23, 16 years ago. He and some friends were taking photos of their motorcycles and a Ranger stopped them, asked if they had a permit and threatened to arrest them if they took any further photos. I was standing in Whisky Pete's parking lot in Primm, taking photos of 2 Donkeys eating hay in the middle of a dry lake. I was using a 600mm f4 Nikon lens, which gives some an idea of how far away I was. Nevada Highway Patrol came up and told me to stop photographing the Donkeys, they were on BLM Land and I needed a permit. I asked if he was joking, I was standing on private property photographing Donkeys on a dry lake bed hundreds of feet away. He got very angry and threatened to arrest me if I took "ONE MORE PHOTO!" HE WAS DEAD SERIOUS! THIS IS INSANE FOLKS! MORE GOVERNMENT OVERREACH. My quarter's worth... dizeman.com

I remember commenting on one of your Mead videos re the ENSO forecast put out by NOAA. That the level of Mead was going to increase a ton due to the end of the La Nina condition and the beginning of an El Nino condition. Well, it happened and will probably continue through next year. Its all about the surface water temps in the ocean. Southern waters are warming up and northern waters are finally getting cold. It just creates one storm after another.

That permit in order to film thing would really irk me. I'd want to find as many people as I could to join forces with to fight it off myself. I can understand if its a smaller, less known and more local oriented place, but when its a massive and well known national park system area? No excuse, in my opinion. That said, I knew you guys weren't gone/didn't quit, and as soon as that change took place, I knew you'd likely have a very limited amount of videos coming out until you could sort it out. That said, I'm definitely not a "party" person, so I've never understood the Havasu thing haha. I look forward to seeing you guys back into the swing of things though! All the best!

At the 5:15 time point: Those two IN PARK trailers that were surviving in the middle of the flood used to belong to my wife's parents and uncle. This was a little over 15 years ago. They had enough foresight to build a "flood wall" (anchored deep in the ground) in back of them, as they knew the Kern River was prone to floods. The area you're looking at is Kernville.
