Just don't go out on it on a summer weekend. The lake is covered with hedonistic tourists from Kansas City and St. Louis, drunkenly operating speedboats and personal watercraft, resulting in injuries and deaths. Girl Scouts at their lakeside camp often cannot go swimming, as drug paraphernalia drifts past from "Party Cove." Traffic is terrible, property is expensive, and ordinary workers have been priced out of the immediate area. I lived there for 2 years, and that was enough.

I grew up in Camdenton (right on the Lake), I don't know what's so dam special about it, other than it's a big pool of green skunky water slowly filling up with empty beer bottles.
@@brettferguson2742 I can appreciate that! I have not lived in California for about 30 years. I grew up a Dodger fan as a kid. Way to many sheep in California for me. I think California should be it's own messed up country. California hates freedom.
Late reply, but the correct one: Many places on the lake of the ozarks have a rock bottom that helps retain the convection of heat. This is easily experienced at Tablerock Lake. When you get in the water in the morning and the air is a little cold, the water feels like you’re getting into a hot tub. It’s incredible
