Aye, Pickwick! That's sort of my neck of the woods, when I was a kid. I remember going there (the dam) a few times in the late 80's or early 90's to camp. We didn't have fishing poles then, so my brothers and I would find line and lures that were caught in the rocks and handline fish with them. We caught stuff doing that too.

What kind of co-angler doesn't even fish like this guy? That's crazy not to fish follow-up behind you from the back of the boat, IMO. So many anglers would love to be there, just fishing and getting to chit-chat for the day. But he wasted it starting at his phone. I live like 30 miles from Pickwick, and fish there often. There are always big spring fish to be caught in 20 ft of water, 40 yards out from the docks, if you drop-shot or drag swimbaits off the bottom, as the fish move in and out of the bank structure. What a waste this co-angler was. He could have helped you develop an unforseen pattern, and maybe even catch a co-angler creel of his own.
