I’ve been catching them daily with the melanosis. Used to be every once in a while but I’m seeing them a lot so far this season. From what I read up on it, seems to indicate healthy water conditions too - that’s a plus!

Piscifun has the most affordable options, but more are coming on the market. You need a smaller spool that allows for lighter baits to be thrown. Let me know if you need anything else. It really is a great way to throw them and it always produces for me.👍

My wife got a kick outta that comment on backlashes lol! My SLX is still working well for the second season and ZERO maintenance has been done. What’s the problem yours is having? I picked up the new Jordan Lee combo from Abu Garcia and don’t like the new one. I have the older model and the redesigned one is much bulkier. The Lew’s Mach CRUSH I picked up is a bit on the heavy side, but I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to rig it. As far as Ted’s baits, who knew?!🤷🏻‍♂️😂🤣

@@live2fishofficial My wife laughs at me too 🤣 My SLX is 3-4 years old. No seasons here so year round use and it has mainly been spooled with 50 pound braid and fished primarily for snakehead. Frogs mostly but also paddle tails and thunder crickets. I have put that reel through Hell! I just doesnt want to cast anymore. The breaks are OFF completely and the spool is crazy loose. It has started slipping too. I'll go to take it out and the bait is swinging free no longer held with tension to the hook keeper. Pretty sure some new bearings would get it right, but I'm looking at $70 ish for the bearings vs $100 for a new reel. Not sure that makes much sense. And they came out with a new one at that same price point, the SLX A. I have been using my Abu Revo for the last couple of trips and it's working great! Caught that PB Snakehead with it. I think, for now anyway, the Revo has taken its place as my new snakehead reel.

The one I got today was even stranger. Looked like a coy fish.
