Lake Tahoe has received more than 700" of snow so far this season , thats 58 feet of fallen snow!! Enjoy a beautiful day of plowing here in Lake Tahoe. Thanks for Watching!
Griff, great videos and nice to see your face. I would be interested in a video going over your equipment: what you have, how it’s setup, and how you got involved in plowing. Looks like there’s a little more snow in the forecast for this weekend/week and then hopefully you are done…and we can enjoy spring in the Sierras!
A friend of mine is in South Lake Tahoe and she recently paid $2,000 to have the snow pulled off her roof. Of course, while the guys were working on the third day of it, it was snowing again, so more snow on the roof. She works at the ski resorts in the area and not too surprising the chair lift chairs are snowed in (well they were last week, don't know about now).
I've been to Tahoe several times. Friends of mine always asked about the 10 foot high marker around the fire hydrants and mailboxes. Now I think they understand
@@griffgrangerBig pay day, day, day, day . Glad you had the equipment, lots of maintenance after lots of WORK. It’s like your version of Ground Hog Day. NEVER ending snow. I’m by Syracuse NY. I know snow, but that’s ridiculous.
Once the sun stays consistent and starts getting the earth heated so it’s not so far below freezing every night that stuff melts faster then u think. If the weather stays as forecasted it will mostly be gone in 3-4 weeks.
True that if every precip season was like this glaciers would indeed begin to grow again in many Sierra locations, not just anywhere but at higher altitudes (mostly) than this, on North facing slopes and more shaded canyons. Snow shown here will melt off by early to mid summer anyway. Not melting entirely before next snow season is the definition of glacier growth. There is only one left in the Sierras and it's not large.
Cat power! I am really impressed with your 938G, I'm guessing it has the electronic traction control? I've spent a fair time plowing in a loader, and there's no way I could ramp and stack MN snow the way that thing climbs. When I watched your earlier vids, I was thinking that blade looked like overkill but could be wider.... now I see the logic in CA snow equipment.
Thanks! Our 938G does not have any sort of traction control. No lockers in either axle either. The warmer climate here allows the snow to pack well enough for the ramps to support the loader. Surprisingly good traction on the ramps
Good grief I saw snow before british columbia but this out of mind.this good for farmer and water reservoir.lot talk here northern canada snow this out mind here.thanks.calgary alberta.
@@griffgranger Yep! We used our Rome K/G clearing blades on our D7E's back in a blizzard of "78" here in NW Ohio, cut and sheared right through twelve-foot drifts, wheel loaders were helpless as we had two inches of ice on the roads right when the temps dropped, it was amazing.
ok, I have a few questions at 37 feet of snow does this mean that the fire season is over before it can even begin, also at 37 feet will the snow still be on the ground at lower elevations when the following year's snow season begins?
That is unreal amount of snow! In meters it is over 17 meters wtf😀. I’m from Finland and if we have a lot of snow we talking about 40-50” snow. How long it will take that all of the snow melts, July?
I’ve never had any issues with the the ramps letting go completely while I’m on it. Sometimes a tire will sink pretty deep, but nothing I haven’t been able to get out of yet. Thanks for watching!
What was your highest snow depth of the year? Did you break the record? 465.4 inches was measured Feb. 14, 1927, on Mount Ibuki in Japan 451 inches was recorded on March 11, 1911, in Tamarack, California
Unfortunately not since it's a different watershed. My impression is it could be a very good thing for reducing drought-worsened fires next season in these areas.
caterpillar has recieved more free advertising this year than in the last 20 combined.but when you need to move earth or snow.caterpillar has a tool for the job at hand.
what does it mean to tell in the title of the video, what is 700" AND COUNTING ? does it mean that; the snow now is for 700 days :+0 or is it 700 hours ? or 700cm ?please make it easy for understanding :+)
mommy what is the man in the big yellow tractor doing? don't worry about a thing honey here's the start of the next glacier. it's not a big deal honey in 100,000 years it will probably cover the state. but we'll be long gone. we're moving to Florida
I love how humans have been living the same way for a long time. During covid we polluted less then ever but somehow the weather is changing more drastically then ever. I don’t see why people don’t understand weather doesn’t just change like this so fast by itself. Humans are polluting less yet weather getting worse 🤔 makes a person with common sense think hey they have to be doing something to the weather because it does not work like this. Snow one day 60 the next 20 the next 50 the next weather just does not work that way. Obviously all these lines in the skies behind jets that slowly spread to look like clouds have to be 100% normal even though they were never there my entire life up until 5-10 years ago . Obviously this weird snow that comes sometimes that is melting odd clumping weird and leaving stains on shit is normal . People are so quick to go with the narrative and not think for themselves. Or at least question. Is it fear that the unthinkable could be true? Is it your afraid of being labeled a tin hat wearing conspiracy theorist? What is it because people need to figure shit out or we are fcked and lots of people will have to find out the hard way. until we unite and stand up together for our great nation the bullshit lies and manipulation will never stop.
Geez , you folks will still have snow at the end of the summer ! LOL ....... Skiing in July anyone ??????? Damn ..... I`m from Northern N.Y. and we get snow , , But not like that ! I Mean , Holy SH$$ !
