In this episode, we continue our travels in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, in Lakes Entrance Victoria, Australia. We camped at Prime Pet-Friendly Tourist Park. Lakes Entrance is only a 4-hour drive from the CBD of Melbourne, and roughly halfway to Merimbula on the NSW Sapphire Coast.
On this getaway, my brother Leigh, sister-in-law, Kristin and a couple of friends join us. Leigh brings along their Jayco caravan and our friends Laura and Rob test out their new La Vista caravan. For dinner one night, Leigh and Kristin showed us how to make lamb and chicken kebabs, cooked on a spit over coals. We head for a morning, where Leigh takes Rob out fishing and give him some fishing tips.
Below lists the places we visited in this episode.
• Lakes Entrance Victoria, Australia
• Prime Pet-Friendly Tourist Park
• Lake Tyers Beach Tavern
• Lake Tyers Beach
• Lakes Entrance Fishermen’s Co-op
• Leftrade Gear Store
• Lakes Entrance Lookout
• Six Sisters & A Pigeon
Lakes Entrance is a coastal town in eastern Victoria, Australia. It's known for the Gippsland Lakes, a vast system of inland waterways. There is a pedestrian bridge to Ninety Mile Beach, which stretches along the town's Tasman Sea shoreline. Wildlife around the beach and lakes includes kangaroos, pelicans and dolphins.
Prime Pet Friendly Tourist Park Lakes Entrance, is a family-owned and operated holiday park, where the owners love dogs. This park is recently child-free. If your interested in music, dogs, boats or travel, then you will enjoy a yarn with the owners around the fire pit or in the pool, as they enjoy spending time with their Guests. If you are searching for a childless, pet-friendly, clean and friendly boutique-style Park, then consider staying at Prime. Guests love that they are only 300 metres from the centre of town & the footbridge to the 90 mile beach, so all the attractions and features of Lakes Entrance are just a short walk away. The park is very quiet at night due to being set back from the main highway, and also more protected from the wind than other Parks nearby.
Only a short drive from Lakes Entrance, Lake Tyers Beach is a great place to relax or enjoy the many outdoor activities East Gippsland offers. Surf or learn how to, at the region’s most renowned surfing spot, Red Bluff. Go boating on the lake, explore the isolated beaches and lakeshores, or spot wildlife on one of the region’s walking trails. Lake Tyers is a popular fishing spot with plentiful supplies of prawns, crabs, flathead and bream; an annual bream fishing competition is held here each Easter. And if you don’t catch your own, you can always find fresh fish and chips on the menu at the local hotel, Lake Tyers Beach Tavern.
Lake Tyers Beach Tavern is a family-friendly hotel tavern serving local grown food and beer looking out over the lower waters of Lake Tyers where it meets the sea, situated adjacent the 90-mile beach. This is a great to place to visit for lunch and swim or stroll the soft sands
We hope you enjoy our channel. We often get asked, ‘what is vanlife?’ Van life is a lifestyle of living in a vehicle full or part-time. The names are compound words that derive from the fact that it is typically done in a van that has been modified with basic amenities, such as house batteries, solar panels, a bed platform, some form of toilet, sink, and storage space. Some van-dwellers live this lifestyle by choice while seeking freedom, self-sufficiency, and mobility without paying for conventional stationary housing, while for others it may be one step from living on the street or in a shelter. Although the term van-dwelling implies living in a van, many types of vehicles may be used for permanent, mobile living arrangements, including former public buses or school buses, campervans, recreational vehicles (RVs), travel trailers, mobile homes, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and cars.
We enjoy part-time van-life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla. In our episodes we stay at free and paid campsites, showing our tips and tricks on how to make life on the road easier and fun. Come join us on our adventures!

Loved it. I'd love to see you cook lamb or beef stew with dumplings on the top ( in the camp oven ). Good Aussie tucker.

Love the show and love the cooking, do you buy the meat pre prepared ?
@kingdeanoadventures
@kingdeanoadventures Год назад
Hi Gayle, yes the meat on the spit was pre-prepared. Leigh mentions the specific butcher he went to, to buy ours from. You can do a similar meat-prep your self if you have the time. Deano
