You know with how many people who wanted a platformer character and not another RPG sword guy, Sparkster would be the ultimate monkey’s paw. But man would he have been awesome!
I’m not too optimistic about Konami giving Nintendo the rights. They didn’t with Sega when they were rereleasing Sega CD classics on the Sega Genesis mini 2, so I doubt that’ll happen, at least in the near future
This is not only the konami SNES soundfont, but I am absolutely willing to bet it's the same composer as Pop 'n Twinbee. The style and use of bass are just so similar.
I don't know for sure, really. But I do know this; that Timpani drum & a good bunch of the game's SFX are actually the same ones from the 'Mystical Ninja'/'Ganbare Goemon' SFC games. For example, the sound used for Sparkster's rocket pack is the exact same one for the walker mechs' boosters in Ganbare Goemon 3! That, and the sound for when Sparkster slashes at an enemy is the exact same one for when Sasuke & Yae damage enemies with their main weapons!
It's pretty clear that execs told the composer "This is going to be the opening of an entire Megafranchise universe, our company mascot and its world, now do your best", and the guy fkn delivered like no one else.
