Hey guys,
As the season opener in Hawaii approaches I've been continuing to push my self in all aspects of surfing. However, sometimes it's important to have some down time with friends. In this VLOG we explore La Jolla with our good friend and renowned photographer Willie Kessel, I talk through my recent favourite soup recipe and answer some great questions from you guys.

Lakey: Cut the squash in half and scoop the seeds out before you bake it. Season with salt and pepper, cook it skin side up. Soooo much easier than the way you did it. Also, if you want to bring it to the next level, add 2 peeled granny smith apples before you blend. :-)

@Lakey Peterson - Roasted squash soup is amazing! Try roasting a couple of peeled apples with the onions to add some natural sweetness. We also roast it with a generous dash of our favourite curry powder for a curried soup!

Thanks for answering my question, I was watching this vlog and it was so unexpected, but cool! You were in my hood of San Diego! I broke my longboard at that beach this summer, only a 2 foot wave day and it got caught in the shore pound as I rode a wave in, but made me feel like a pro nonetheless, having broken my board, ha!

Check my last vlog the day in SB was literally like mini Teahupoo but I didn't even surf it. Perfect throwing reef pits! Next time it's on! You got such a wave rich year round spot down form the campground it's ridiculous! The Santa Ynez mountains do amazing at keeping the kooks away! 🙌
