Brand name only matters where the brand is registered or there is agreement exist between the two countries on reciprocal basis. For example, though "Basmati" Rice is Pakistani /Indian Brand for centuries but it got registered in the US and now when you sell rice by using name "Basmati" in the US you first got to pay for the brand name to an American company that got the copy rights, for no reason. The brand "basmati rice" it got copyrighted in the US thou it is not the US product originally. It is a trade war and as they say everything is fair in love and war
