Thanks Ric for showing it off and especially for the test drive in SCO. The fuel efficiency is crazy. With that SCO A drive, it looks to be able to cover approximately 10 million l/s in a single run if fully kitted out for fuel (406 tons). If you felt generous with your time and covered a run with a B rated drive, I'd watch the hell out of that!
I noticed how fast the charging of the frameshift drive was "out of the box" compared to say a python. I'm getting one of those next week for sure. EDIT: I'm going to get the standard one though, I have the credits to make it an A and I always fly without guns, so lighter and more Ly range. Sometimes without shield so I don't really need the stellar. If I want a paint job, I'll use the arx that I saved buying the standard
Could use it as an universal miner, but only 1 medium hardpoint limits that - seismic has to be medium and small subsurface launcher has way too small magazine - and only 2 small mining lasers would be too little even for a multi-miner. I would probably make it "everything but core" miner: Medium subsurface, an abrasion blaster and 3 mining lasers: 2 lances and 1 pre-engineered mining laser that I already have. With a carrier, I have no need for a medium mining ship, tho.
@@user_16309 As a multi-discipline miner, I love the Type-10. It has enough hardpoints for all the mining tools and couple left over for defence. Fully engineered it can keep up with any spinning asteroid too. If you are just laser mining, the Cutter is considered gold standard for that and Type-9 will also do fine. For mediums, Python is considered a great mining ship for a long time and this Type-8 can be similar. If you want to go little cheaper, Asp Explorer can be decent now that we have the multi-limpet controller. If you are just starting out, maybe something like Type-6 or Keelback could do, I don't know.
Really wish the pylons in the front did something like when you added cargo racks or filled cargo space you would see cargo containers fill in along the fork.
ED needs more ships with visible Thrust Vectoring. Sure you dont see it all the time since you're in 1st person but it just adds that extra bit of cool to the Cool space ship game
Thanks for the review and showing off what we can do with it. The engine "nacelle" movement is awesome and reminds me of the Constellation ships from Star Citizen. I'll be sure to get one next week!!
Thankx Ric! Been waiting to see your review 1st for the real poop! See you out there.. Funny but doesn't it seem the front spears/mandibles should retract inward/back also?
Shielded she'll take about 352 tons of cargo. Nice, nice. Not too happy about the kewl prongs blocking the view though. They do make her look like superman in flight. Hope they have an appropriate paint scheme.
I got the stellar Python mk II with no regrets, an was considering just getting the regular unlock for the Type-8, but DAMN that ship kit and paint looks really nice! Gonna have to go full stellar next week!
Thanks for showcase, I will have definetly this ship in hangar and maybe I will use it as longrange freighter/courier and my old Krait will reamin as combat ship. Until now it was doing everything perfectly (bit engineered) but this ship looks promising. But I dont know if I will buy it for ARX and I found two things which I dont like about it: name-again Transporter? And second: engine nacelle extension looks kinda simplified-no details around it and even on hull any detailing or hull change where are pylons. I know that it is back of ship which wont be seen too much but come on
"OH! This surely will get me to play the game again" To be honest, it just looks like a more Tanky Krait MkLL and no im not shitting on the game, im arguing with myself, i like the game, i just dont feel the call to play it again anymore and every time i try i quit right before i actually leave the Main Menu
Saw your video late. I was shocked how stable is on SCO and fuel consumption. Definitely buying the stock version with ARX on the 7th. Previous engineered modules from my T7 fit there.
Yes, I will be getting one... With the upcoming changes to engineering I'll be playing a lot more. This looks like a new general mission runner for me. Other than the lame armament (it needs 2 more mediums) it looks great! I love the red paint job, yes, very much reminds me of the T-Birds. I'll get the base version so I can swap things with no issues, can't wait to see what it does with a full engineering on it!
A missed opportunity. This should of been a miner with multiple medium hardpoints. Still does not look nearly as compelling as the 3d renders in terms of saturation and rust gradient details. Still looks too clean for my eyes. And I'll never understand frontiers obsession with NASCAR paint job schemes on sci-fi ships...
@@RicardosGaming Nah, I think I'm going to pass on this ship. I don't like anything obstructing my field of view and I do mostly combat. The only things this is going to win in a fight against are space rocks
If its a Medium ship then its Better then a Python and a Type6, But if its a Large ship then its Not Even Better then a Conda. If Its a Large Ship that Fits on a Medium Pad then it might save it. Other wise its a junk gimmicky ship. From the Launch alone the dock says Large Pad; Its junk! They should of made it a Large ship that Fits medium pad or just made it a medium ship! what a waste.
its a nice looking design, but whats the point? i have a cutter, and all the other best ships, you cant walk around the inside of it, so its just the same ol thing that you have to do the same grind to engineer, you have to do better to impress me frontier
stripped and fit for a explorer range with s5 fsd booster it could hit probaly 56-61 ly. wont know until i can get my talons on it and have some fun. but can say it looks to be a dasterdly nimble core miner.
So... what's the point of this ship? Sure, it looks decent, but like all small and medium ships, they are outclassed by large ships. The only sensible role is merely exploration. Cutter is just better than the type 8 in almost every way. The speed is only useful for combat, so it's pointless for Type 8. In summary, Type 8 doesn't just really add anything of value to the game in comparison to the current roster of ships. It just does every role worse.
Blocking field of view? Why would you fly this. Those "mandibles" need to go. Otherwise its just another ship not worth to buy for irl money or credits.
