My computer will not let me use the Lakota keyboard on this site for some reason, so I will use as close to it as I can get with the English keyboard; The song is called a four directions song, even though 6 directions are mentioned, starting with the west, then North, then East, south, above and finally towards the earth. Hena waci au we ...close translation would be "these are coming dancing" then Hecha [wiyohpeyatakiya] sunka wakan oyate wan... Towards the [west] it is a horse nation...these are coming dancing and on for each of the other directions in brackets: Waziatakiya, Wiohiyanpatatakiya, Itokagatakiya, wakatakiya, makhatakiya. I cannot translate all of them, but it speaks of protection that the Horse offers us in all the Directions of the Universe..the 4 Directions, first, the West , then the North, then the East, then the South, then the Sky, then the Earth..... ..all 7 Directions is the connection we feel when riding the Horse...The 7th Direction is the one that is YOU ...the Center of the Universe that is within you.....
