"THE DEFINITION OF NEO-SOUL" Neo-Soul is a timeless musical genre that fuses real instrumental, Jazz, contemporary R&B and 1970s-style soul, funk, and rock with some elements of hip-hop. As it's name (new soul) implies, Neo-Soul music is essentially modern-day soul music, with contemporary attitudes and sensibilities. It differs from contemporary R&B in that it's organic and obviously more soulful, and it also tends to have deeper messages and meanings than R&B.
Would love to support them but most of them isn't available on vinyl and that's the only media I support. This is what it's about in my mind, love it and would rush out and buy it if available on vinyl.

Changing yourself to please others is a recipe for disaster, and your self distruction!
Thank you @dicky Yrrep. I appreciate the positive comments. I was so nervous playing with Lalah but this paris Gig was probably one of my favourite gigs I've ever done. I wasn't playing all the fancy licks but just locking down the Groove. Which a beautiful thing when you are playing with the likes of Eric Smith on Bass.
Lalah Hathaway is so "Mint Condition" fine! Ooooooooooo weeeeeeeeee babeeeeeeeeeeeee!💝 I named my Yorkie Lalah Cherie 🐕 My mom (R.I.P.) played Mr Donny Hathaway my entire childhood along with many other greats. I was bumping beautiful Lalah Hathaway in my collage days on cassette back in da (yeah da) day! Baby Don't Cry, I'm Coming Back.😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
When Lalah scatts, I can imagine Ms. Ella & Ms. Natalie smiling, Her bare feet like Ms. Phyllis Hyman & Ms. Patti Labelle, & that Phyllis Hyman whistle at the end, Ms. Lalah is a #Legend🙌🏿 #Blessed😉👌🏿
The guitar player is absolutely amazing. He kicked it off in such a way. I knew it was gonna be a jam by the first few chords. The background singers are killing it. Layla is cutting up. What more could you ask for
You mean the bass player Eric Smith?..Yeah he's a BEAST!!..Check out this video of his brother Jubu on lead guitar! Even if you don't know his name I'm pretty sure you know some of the songs he's played on!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_uk7tMOW_0c.html
This is truly an incredible performance by the entire crew.....so much talent is up on that stage and Ms. Hathaway is enjoying it as much as the audience is.🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏
This lady has, over the course of about the last 5 or 6 yrs, become my fav female vocalist. At very least, top 3. My other 2 contenders, Melanie daniels, ledisi
Wow, !!! I knew this wasn’t your ordinary talent….everyone in this band is GIFTED!!! So Lalah Hathaway is Donny’s daughter. I listen to Donny all day and every day. I was really enjoying the effortless and sultry way Lalah moved, could not wait to hear her sing. Then when she sang I was like wow, not knowing she was Donnie’s daughter. No wonder she can sing so. The other young lady was so awesome as well it was like she was rappin and scattin (whatever it’s called lol) and singing jazz the same time. Wow. The bass player and the male singer awwwwwsome!
ERIC SEATS is usually her drummer & this sounds like him.. the perfect cat for this gig (& the many others he plays)... funny, at first glance the drummer resembles Stokley!! lol who’s a bad ass drummer too... and the person below who said Chris Dave, that was kinda funny to read..:)
Hey thank you so much. My name is Sam Blue Agard and gutted for being the only band member not named. But privileged to be compared to Eric Seats, Chris Dave and Stokely. I'm a fan of them all. I'm a massive Chris Dave fan but nowhere near his level.
I love these Goddesses/Queens and Gods/Kings teamwork . Goddess Lalah knows who she is and is totally secure within, but allows others to shine with her. True Goddess Lalah! Much respect to everyone who sung and played on this video. Awesome👍
Too much in one video! That bass with the drummer locked, seriously funky! Sweet piano solo, just right! That brotha was nice! Then that dang Vula.....just wow. Then Lalah’s 2nd run with the scats... I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this.
Thought I found already some of the greatest performances. But this is on another level. You can listen to it endlessly, but I even rewatched the whole thing several times, how they interact with each other on stage. And everyone is so grooving, everything's so tight. Lovely!
Can someone help me with the songs that i'm missing pls?? 0:00 - 1:19 ?????, 1:20 - 1:35 sir nose dvoidoffunk/ come back in one peace, 1:37 - 1:54 bad boy for life, 1:55 - 2:03 ?????, 2:04 - 2:21 for the love of money, 2:22- 2:37 good times/ rappers delight, 2:39 - 3:04 ?????, 3:05 - 3:21 this place hotel/ heartbreak hotel, 3:22 - 3:35 brick house, 3:36 - 4:30 ?????, 9:02 - 9:20 ?????
i listen and watch this one everyday...that Eric Smith on that bass is doing that thing and them singers....oooh my....sassy and funky all in the same....love this
Lol...that bass man knowing he shaking that leg Lol.. I'm feeling it I know he is Allah Hathaway u a blessed woman I like that adlib at beginning of song.
Omg I love this I wish I was there thank for uploading this video it's my favorite on RU-vid it really is . Far as live shows go wow !! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿😍😍😍😍😍😍
The bass player and drummer could do a set all by themselves. That first four minutes was some serious funk!. This is my first time hearing Jason Morales, and Vula Malinga sing. Most singers would be afraid to have not one but two vocalist of this caliber singing with them. But there are not LaLah Hathaway. When you have singers of this quality, you only need a minimum number of instruments.
That's the real thing, feeling, humor, an audience, that can follow and give back all the love, Lalah is a great artist and human being and a beautiful woman Joachim Heyrath
her technique is flawless...well done...i love bass (huge jaco fan), but when you have singer like her on stage? gotta play less...etc. thanks for sharing...best!
+OG YaHerd - so impressed with girlfriend i had to find out what tha dillyo! vula malinga [9:09] tore her part to pieces! that beat those musicians are pumpin & her vocals - just amazing! she knocked it out tha park with that ending! just bumpin!
