Lamanok is located at the town of Anda, Bohol. Anda was recognized as the cradle of the early civilization. The place is uninhabited and the people believe that the place is haunted.
Long before the only visitors on the island are the Shamans and Spiritual Healers who performed a ritual offering at the Lamanoc cave as a thanksgiving for healing the sick or cursed and, asking for a bountiful harvest and a good fishing catch.
Chicken or Manok is the only sacrifice of choice offered to the spirits thus the island was named Lamanok.
Since 2004, ritual sacrifices are still periodically performed to appease the spirits and to keep the island open to all visitors and tourists. Our guide has many mystic stories and centuries-old folklore told us during the tour.
