He lost to Patrick Mahomes’s Chiefs? Did y’all forget how many times Tom Brady spoiled other QBs great SB runs? Kurt Warner, Peyton Manning would’ve had more if it weren’t for Tom Brady, Big Ben and his Steelers probably would’ve gotten more. Hell Mark Sanchez and his Jets almost got one but Brady spoiled THEM in the championship and never went back. So y’all just need to learn to give guys grace if they lose to Patrick Mahomes’s Chiefs because he’s this eras Tom Brady.
@@jusbertmeza4424to be fair this was there best chance to go this the chiefs weakest season and also they literally had to go on the road 2 times usually they always have home games in the playoffs but nope they beat the 1 and 2 seed on the road
As a fellow 49ers fan, I knew Lamar would choke in the playoffs. It was just a matter of time. This time, he made it to the AFC Championship to choke. He's a choke-artist. Maybe next year Lamar can choke in the Superbowl. 🤣 #BangBangNinerGang 😎
@@J4YeSun357 Nothing can top losing 4 straight SB's but yeah. Hopefully they don't abandon what got them to the playoffs like the Ravens did and run all over that 17th ranked rush defense of the Chiefs.
1. Play calling when Mark Andrew’s is healthy becomes beyond predictable with the amount of weapons you have 2. Zay Flowers rookie mistake 3. KC prepared a lot more bc they didn’t expect the win 4. RB squad isn’t top tier, unless KM steps up next few years and JK stays healthy These aren’t excuses but it’s what they need to change if they want to win. Lamar isn’t out of excuses or opportunities. He’s still one of if not the best dual threat QB in the league. Don’t forget KCs defence got them to the playoffs, bc until recently Rice hadn’t stepped up as much and Mahomes was looking like he needed more weapons. This just sounds like the usual roller coaster of “Lamar’s elite” to “he’s overrated and should be cut”
If all of those things have to be said, that says enough about the QB. If u have to have top notch surrounding talent, then u aren't a top notch QB. He's only winning MVP because he was the QB of the team with the best regular season record. Even Jordan Love had a better statistical season than Lamar, and Love had rookies and 2 year players all around him and not near as good of a defense to help him out.
@@synyster_172dude he’s one of the best, if not the best dual threat QB in the league. The reasons I gave 100% effect the QB too😂 You can argue he’s too picky on which receivers he likes which is true, but that’s not always based off of talent either.
@ravendecoux I'm basing it off his decisions. He chose to throw into triple coverage. Every playoff loss has been because he can't win with his arm. Opposing defenses make a decision either before the game or after to just stop his legs, when they do its a guaranteed Ravens loss with lamar at QB.
@@bobbythorton7693it was Lamar, stafford got plenty out of Odell, Lamar is just not that dude idk when ppl realize his not a quarterback, he is an athlete that can occasionally throw a football. His passing numbers are pathetic.
Lamar is great, but at over $50M/year the Ravens won't keep enough talent around to get to the Promised Land. He's not Mahomes, and he costs even more. The 49ers can keep their high talent level because of Purdy's low cost. Both of those QBs are more accurate passers and better decision makers, and they don't need Lamar's legs because both have excellent RBs.
Ravens need a "Mike Alstott" type of Fullback. Block, run and screen catch. It would give Lamar an extra defender or short yardage option and absorb some of the damage
Aikman was a game manager... 4 super bowls. Joe Montana was a game manager... 4 super bowls. Steve Young was a game manager... 3 super bowls. I can go on.
Yes, one MVP when the other one will be awarded to him because bro Purdy can never be the MVP because the agent got it wrong but it’s OK affirmitave action baby
I'm always amazed that the superstars of any team wants to be the highest paid in their position and yet 2 to 3 years later they have a pathetic record with no chance of going to the Super Bowl and they complain about it. Can they not do the math? Brady wanted rings (which he got) and took pay cuts to make it happen. Maybe some teams should let them walk to the money after their rookie scale contract expires and roll in the draft for a system QB like Purdy. No disrespect to him
@@Zabougie I'm only using Purdy because of Shanahan's system as an example because of the small sample size. Jimmy G was pretty good in SF but terrible once he left. Another system quarterback was Jared Goff and everybody thought he'd be terrible in Detroit with no name rookies but is proving everybody wrong. If Purdy went elsewhere with very little talent and lit it up, I would definitely put him in the top tier of QB's. Just not a big enough sample size yet so please don't take it as a personal shot at him or SF.
I find it comical that the team that used to be the Cleveland Browns fumbled at the 1 yard line in the AFC championship. It reminds me of the Earnest Byner fumble which also happened at the 1 yard line in the AFC championship game. 😂😂😂
Marino never had a defense. Same with Fouts both were incredible qbs but neither had a defense. Lamar had one of the best teams in the NFL and either one of those qbs would have won that game.
THE REAL SCAPE GOAT IS LAMAR INSTEAD OF THE COACH WHO ABANDONED THE RUN AND KC'S DEFENSE WANTED TO GET LAMAR WAY MORE THAN THE RAVENS COULD GET TO MAHOMEBOY
His defensive scheme was sound, and his offensive play calling was as well. The Ravens had guys open down field often but LJ either didn’t see them or missed them
The Ravens didn't even run the ball 20 times the entire game. Isiah Pacheco ran the ball more times than we did. The Ravens didn't do what we did the entire season once again. Just like in 2019 against Tennessee. Lamar deserves some blame, but the buck stops at John Harbaugh.
@@uttermanbo yup thats exactly how it works like when Brady played he got all the praise for winning the game but the defense got blamed for losing even if he threw picks or lost the game himself haha
Their division was weak this year because of all of the injured quarterbacks. This inflated their numbers on offense and defense. They were overconfident.
@@stevenvox6549 they demolished the 9ers at a time the 9ers looked unstoppable. They had twice the talent than the chiefs on the field. They can only play who’s on their schedule.
Herbert and Lawrence have NO WHERE NEAR the supporting cast and coaching staff/organization that Lamar does. Chargers and jags have been known always a lower tier organizations. Nice excuses for Lamar though
@@Mmane_223 I’ll admit despite the Chargers clearly stacked roster Brandon Staley was terrible, and that probably has played a role to Herbert’s losing record as a starter. Trevor might have a break out year eventually, but so far he hasn’t been good. Nobody is talking about the fact the Jags went 8-3 and finished 9-8 then not being able to beat a 5-11 Titans team to make the playoffs. like i said afc quarterbacks are overrated asl
Lamar Jackson played poorly, especially throwing into triple coverage in the end zone, but the play calling was terrible. The biggest fault of Lamar was not running when he had some seriously open lanes. There were several plays in which he could have gained tons of yards and he still tried to force the ball somewhere or ended up throwing it away. The Ravens played a certain way the entire season and were very successful, why wasn't the offense ran the same way it had been during the regular season? Did the Ravens staff think that by playing a very different offense they were going to confuse anyone? The Ravens did the Chiefs a favor by not sticking to their usual style of play. If Lamar Jackson has a good Ravens team, like the one he had this year and doesn't win his next playoff game(s), then the opinion that "he can't win the big on" will definitely stick..... Unless he eventually wins a Super Bowl.
This is why we should have replaced harbaugh with Mike McDonald. McDonald was the only play caller who actually made good adjustments and did his job. Harbaugh just gives us excuses every year he lets this happen and I’m tired of it.
@@alexanderortega5625 It sounds like you know a lot more about th Ravens than I do but was it Harbaugh or was it Todd Monken? I realize Harbaugh is the Head Coach but who called that game? We'll probably never know whose idea it was to go with that terrible game plan. Unless it was Roger Goodell, and there's some truth to the whole "rigged" stuff we've been hearing about. Someone called it the - The Taylor Swift is Purdy Bowl? Lol.
@@notsosilentmajority1 Monken has already proven his skill at play-calling...as an OC at Georgia, he beat a dominant Bama team for the National championship that had already beat him in the SEC Championship Game. You don't win National Championships by abandoning what got you there, and it's quit uncharacteristic of him. Like, in the 3rd qtr he started calling run plays that were working well, and then inexplicably went right back to what had not been working all along and stuck with it. Almost seemed like someone that was told to do something being rebellious and doing just the opposite, before being scolded and brought back into line. Definitely not the actions of an OC of his caliber. Thats just one of the puzzle pieces that goes along with blatant missed calls, or exaggerated calls conveniently on plays which would have given the Ravens any momentum. Everytime they started gaining ground something stopped it. At one point, even the commentators had to question the obvious missed call right in the open field which would have given Baltimore the ball in the red zone with 1st & 10. Baltimore got beat by a skinny blonde girl in the suites who brings more fans to the TV than the Ravens vs. 49ers otherwise would have.
It's not out of the ordinary for a talented QB to not have won by this point in his career. It's hard to win a Super Bowl. That being said, I've never gotten the vibe from Lamar that he can win high-pressure games. I think mentally this is just who he is. Maybe an all-time D like the Broncos or Seahawks could carry him to a title someday, so I'll never say never
Hearing Lamar speaking the other day saying that he wanted to be more of a pocket QB had me remembering the Steelers Cordell Stewart. Played great early on because he used his legs which made him a formidable weapon but he wanted to be known as a great QB and without his 'slash' abilities he was run of the mill at best. Being able to make reads and hit the proper receiver is massively important...but without the threat of the QB running on you...they're much easier to defend. You don't have to excel at any part of the job...just be good at all aspects and you'll win with a good team around you.
Say what you will, Lamar didn't play well, but the coaches put him in a position to fail during the afc championship. A truly mid boggling game plan to someone who watched every single ravens game this year.
What /where exactly was the game plan and the identity They only let the running back run the 6 times between the 2 tight ends the both got 5 targets they finally used Odell in finally 10 minutes of the game The oline play & execution was Abysmal John Harbaugh and the other offensive of coaches deserve just as much if not more than 🎉
I said in the beginning of the year, he needs to get of the ball as the season progresses, but I got ridiculed for it. Now they say 'why are we coming after him now?'. No, I've been on him. Nobody cared to listen and this is what happened. He froze up and refused to pull the trigger. Also, I was convinced by the mass that Greg Roman was the issue. The best run schemer and most accessible pass schemer for a running QB got chased out of Baltimore because he was holding Lamar back as a mobile but "true pass first QB". 🤔🤔🤔
Lamar Jackson will be fine...he made a leap with his team and did something he hasn't done before in reaching the AFC championship game. Next year, if he gets there, he just needs to be himself and do what got the team there in the first place. I'm a Chiefs fan and I know that wasn't a 100% Lamar, just the big game jitters. Yes, he may miss some of his weapons but that's not to say he can't do it again. Everyone thought with Tyreek leaving us KC had no chance...last year's Lombardi trophy says otherwise.
Time to put some respect on that Chiefs defense. The dolphins were too cold they said. Bills were too injured they said. Now, the league MVP just didn't show up. KC has best defense in the league this year and it's not up for debate!!
@goingsinister6684 that still doesn't change the decision. He chose to throw into triple coverage, and the ball was well behind the TE even with the push that wasn't called. The throw was terrible, the decision was terrible. I've been a Ravens fan since '97 and there's just no more excuses for him
Nah bro; you can’t tell me this is on Lamar. Aside from NFL assigning Shawn Smith & Co. to ref this game, Harbs & Monken failed him with the play calls & abandoning our run game, & our OL failed him by allowing KCs trash defense to sack him 4x. When your rookie WR is the only one making any plays, it’s hard to win. Shawn Smith heavily favors road teams; Home teams are 17-30-3 since he’s starting reffing in 2018. Home teams have 55% chance of winning, but it drastically drops to 40.8 % when Smith refs those games.. You can’t tell me Donovan Smith & Jawaan Talylor are NOT known for holding. Well, Bosa addressed it in this interview.. Lamar did what Lamar was suppose to do; Harbs even admitted that our game plan was to run the game smh.. can’t pin that L on him. Taylor Swift has brought it $355M to the Chiefs & NFL since her 1st game appearance. At the end of the day, NFL is a business, only winners here are die hard 49ers fans & Taylor Swift fans. Let’s just call a spade a spade and admit Mahomes is protected by the league.. Smh it’s so obvious they want Mahomes to win back to back ships 🏆

Lamar can't do it. THIS is what justifies his haters continuously dishing out the hate. He's the only quarterback in history that has an MVP and no Superbowl appearance. He was given everything he needed coupled with Burrow, and Watson out. There was no competition within the division. You have the #1 seed, home field advantage, and the Chiefs on a "down" year. He still did playoff Lamar things and choked. If you hate on him, it's instantly racist. The AFC Championship furthers proof that running quarterbacks just cannot rely on their arm to win. Throwing and defense wins championships and never running.

Could you not tell me sold the game, because there was a leak that it was us and the 49ers by a news channel in Tennessee. So they changed the script to make it not look rigged. Unfortunately if you take the money you don't get a Superbowl. Only low paid Quarterbacks win Superbowls
The league, and the refs, are all in for the Chiefs. That's all that needs to be said. Rasheed Wallace recently said in a podcast interview that the NBA has taken on a WWE element. The same can be said, with a far greater degree of accuracy, about the NFL. Been the case for years now.
Its mind boggling to me how these QBs think they come out winners with these monster contracts. What did the best of all time do? Brady was known for taking less money so teams could put quality pieces around him. If any of these guys really cared about winning they would take less money so the teams could do exactly that. I mean at what point do you have more money than you even know what to do with? I figure at 5 million a year I would be able to have almost anything I wanted, 10 mil a year and I wouldn't even know what to do with it. At that point, for me, winning multiple Super Bowls would be far more important than trying to get the biggest possible league reseting contract that I could like the majority of these guys do. Far as I can tell, most of these guys care far more about money than they do about winning.
They do this all the time. When he wins they got nothing to say but as soon he loses they wan jump on his back and slander him when literally as long as he is healthy and on the field he gives the ravens the best chance to win

And 1 QB still playing like a rookie. Mark my words Lamar will get smoked like a pack of Koolz in the playoffs year after year.
If Lamar's gonna be great, he's gotta overcome shit like this. It's his fault they couldn't score more than 17. Zay Flowers being a rookie is no excuses!
@Mikerophone First off I'm neither a Ravens nor a Chiefs fan. I also had no money on this game or any other. My opinion you can't judge Lamar on this game.... The refs twice didn't flag Pass interference when the Ravens were driving, both times on the Cheifs side of the 50. The missed PI call was the I Tin the End Zone. This one I can see how there could be a argument. My opinion is it was PI. The second I believe was the Ravens final drive on 3rd down pass to the right. That was a horrible missed call. I soley believe the game would have a different result.
NFL games can turn on a dime. 2 things happened that day, as I watched every minute. 1. The Ravens coaches tried to make Jackson a pocket passer, instead of cutting him loose. 2. Flowers sucked the air out of the stadium with his stupid taunting penalty. Baltimore was around the 10 yard line at that point, that put them back to the 25. Huge rookie mistake! They had a real chance before that penalty. Then Flowers fumbled, trying way too hard to overcorrect, which led to the turnover. Those 2 things( 3 if you count the fumble) led to Baltimore's downfall.
lamar can still bring baltimore a SB. you’re all entirely too negative. we have a good front office (draft). we have a great group of coaches who know how to develop role players into game changers. we’re blaming everything on lamar as if he didn’t drive down the field several times & out pass patrick mahomes. yea he made a few mistakes (that int into triple coverage was to draw out a PI) but in his first year with a “real” team (obj, agholor, bateman & an injury prone lack luster RB room that benefits off of lamar’s ability, don’t count) around him he made it to the conference championship. like cmon he’s in his mid 20s. He’s got years left to dominate, break records, & get a super bowl, if not a dynasty. this narrative about lamar needs to be shelved.
I believe in LaMar Jackson! I felt that he was going to be the SB MVP in 2024! He came close but had an off game. Monken is a great OC! Bart Starr was a great QB but nothing like LJ-8. Bart Starr’s highest salary was $100,000; which is under $1 million in 2023 $$s! Is LJ-8 50 times greater than BS?? Unlikely. It’s hard to beat both the KC Chiefs and the referees! Next year LJ-8 will be better!
This was the best season we had as Ravens fan since the legendary 2019 season. I mean, we got one step closer, but we still lost. I fail to understand why we didn't run the ball as much in the AFC Championship game. The Kansas City Chiefs were top five against the pass and in the poor weather, it made them even stronger. But against the run, they were in the bottom half in the league, yet we hardly ran the ball. Why? Because John Harbuagh said that the Chiefs defense made it impossible to run the ball. I call bullcrap on that. Like I said, the Chiefs are terrible at stopping the run and the Ravens had the number one rushing attack in the league. So it didn't make sense to not run the ball as much. How do you run down a defense? You run the ball. I fully believe that if the Ravens ran the ball a lot in that game, they would have gotten over the hump. I, along with many other NFL fans, wanted to see a Ravens vs. Lions Super Bowl, but because the NFL loves Taylor Swift so much and only cares about money, we get this dumpster fire of a Super Bowl. I still have respect for Patrick Mahomes and he has had an extraordinary career so far, but I am boycotting this Super Bowl because he beat my team. All things considered, it was a great season. Lamar putting up MVP numbers, the number one rushing attack in the NFL, the number one scoring defense in the league, etc. Now, with the loss of so many staff members of the Ravens Coaching, I'm not sure we'll ever get to the promise land. This was the best team statistically since the 2000 Ravens and they blew it. That might have been their only shot. I don't know. Time will only tell. Enough said.
Unbelievable. Lamar Jackson 2023 stats Tied for 11th place in touchdown passes. 15th in passing yards. 4th in rushing touchdowns. How is this guy still in contention for MVP??? He is definitely the MVP on the Ravens team, but not the league.
Because the media will be called haters and racist if they don't vote him as the MVP. Funny cause I think if we're not considering playoff performance, the MVP would easily be Dak Prescott who is another black QB...but at this point the ''Lamar is a RB'' thing is considered racist and so it's not about a black QB winning MVP that's important, it's about Lamar specifically winning it.
Lol the ravens coaching staff choked that game away , they watched the bills run for 200 yards against the chiefs in the divisional round and decided let’s hand the ball off to our running backs 6 times.
Forget keeping OBJ this team has Patrick Queen and Justin Madubuike hitting the market! Bro this team is about to fall apart big time. Team needs to make some tough decisions over the next few months. This was the best team they are gonna field for many years and they fell out hard. Bad stuff for the Ravens and the division is only getting stronger around them.
Only if they cut some guys they only have 8 million in cap space right now but they have to resign him for sure. They MIGHT cut Marlon or so I have read and Devin Duverney is a FA too so they need to draft well this offseason@@Deuce1042
Lamar is a great Qb but he doesn't play like a Mahomes or Allen. 2 issues with thats are he deserves a huge contract based on talent, and any team with him will have to build the team around how he plays amd most teams are not willing to make that huge sacrifice of an overhaul of personel and players in addition to the financial burden. Any team would need to structure first and trade for him meaning a trashed season and no good picks for a year or 2
Just a correction, Lamar Jackson did not play for the Georgia Bulldogs as mentioned in the video he played for Louisville: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamar_Jackson#:~:text=Jackson%20finished%20Louisville's%209%E2%80%934,within%20the%20University%20of%20Louisville.
The amount of people blaming Zay is wild to me. That was just an otherworldly play by Snead, I’m a ride or die ravens fan, but give Snead his flowers for forcing that fumble. 9/10 times that’s a touchdown
This dude is different . A freak at the quarterback position , that MFer you want to play beside , definitely could play a number of positions , the word "Athlete" has his name in its definition.
Love the show, dont wanna hurt feelings but Lamar and Dak are exactly the same caliber. One can run and the other has some accuracty and neither make good enough decesions to win your organization a super bowl. GOCHIEFS!
this team was so good bro. i think you gotta throw blame on the coaching staff. why wouldn't they stick with their bread and butter .. EST THE RUN!! any short passes and run plays would be nice small chunk plays. airing everything out w out setting up the run did them in. yes lamar made a few questionable throws, but they need to put him in better situations to succeed.
As a long time patriots fan, I can tell you this may not be a Lamar issue. He is playing in a conference with what might be the next Tom Brady. How many great teams with good to great QB’s couldn’t get to the big game because they ran into Tom Brady? Hell, it took Peyton Manning like 8 or 9 years to get there & he had great talent all around him almost every year. He got there & I’m sure Lamar will.

Lamar needs to work on anticipation throws. When you crowd the box and prevent scrambles you gotta know where to get the ball out and do so accurately. He rarely throws with anticipation although its something i saw worked on more this year so i see hope for improvement
I think it is way worse to be a team like this with so much potential, great season, and they still fail. That hurts more than say being the Chicago bears and having absolutely no chance at all. It hurts to sacrifice so much, get so close, only to still fail. Expectations crushed.
The Chiefs sold out and invested everything into stopping the run, forcing Lamar to air it out. This is what happens he’s forced to be a full time QB. It’s the Chargers playoff game all over again.
@@Zetlerthey only had 6 rush attempts and it’s a different ball game if Zay flowers doesn’t fumble a TD away. They didn’t even try to run the ball. Teams stacked the box against them all year.
As a 49er fan who hates both teams, the refs rigged their last playoff game against the ravens and honestly I'm not even sure the Ravens' coaches intended to win. They didn't take advantage of Lamar being a great running back who obviously can't play QB. But even then, the refs prevented the Ravens from being able to tie it up in this one. Of course I don't feel even a little bit sorry for them since the Harbowl was rigged and the ravens committed mass holdings that whole game that they somehow knew they wouldn't get called for.
