The year kawhi played 9 games and LA carried us to the playoffs, bustin his ass, keeping the Spurs streak going, MADE ME GET HIS JERSEY. My boy so underrated…I hope he can sign it one day
@@cwalker1013what would bringing up do anything to disprove what the original comment was? Go and watch his 56 points, every single shot was within a couple inches of being contested. Arm directly in his face and the ball
Imo LaMarcus isn't a first ballot hall of fame player, but he had a very good career. I think eventually he gets in. 7 all stars,5 all nba selections, nearly 20k points with 10k rebounds, he was killing.
Lmaoo same here. I remember I used to pick them and people would be like Blazers?!? This should be easy. I 20 piece them 3x and they still don’t understand how lmao. His turnaround was automatic in that year and Dame could shoot from anywhere in a split second. Then you got the wings Matthews and Batum who were both high flyers and had the lock for great defense. That was one of the best video game teams to play with!
@@cvgodd1432if LA stays and Wes doesn’t rupture his Achilles I truly believe they win a title. I mean heck, Dame went to the WCF a few years later with Kanter ,Aminu, harkless and Seth curry just a few years later.
LA one of the best blazers to do it! So many kids in the PNW grew up loving you! Thank you for the memories! As a lifetime hooper we live for the details like these thanks to all the smoke and to all true hoop fans! Hoop makes life a better place! R.I.P #8
Could never forget having a surgery at doernbecher children’s hospital on my heart and Marcus Aldridge sent me a care package to my uncle who worked for the training facility. Top 3 moments in my life 💯🙏🏾💪🏾
Greg Oden Brandon Roy Would love to see these guys on all the smoke. I was a huge fan of both! Wish health could’ve allowed them to play more! No hate over here. Tell your story fellas!!
It's good to hear LA actually talk. It sucks to hear that no matter what, he was leaving Portland because he said that he was coming back. That shit hurt us here in Portland.
I couldn’t tell you how many times as a Thunder fan I saw LMA hit a high post fadeaway over his left shoulder… love you LMA and everything you brought to the game thank you LMA
Now this is the LaMarcus that I would have loved to have seen/heard while he played in Portland. His quietness led to the thought that he was arrogant and angry….I think he became angry at the end of his Portland career…. But I get it now and love to hear his story.
Please get Greg on the show and set the record straight about him! Brandon said a few years ago the same exact thing about Greg and his dominance on the court and how Greg made everything easier for them before the injury happened. Brandon even went as far as to say he thought they could win a championship or two with Greg+LaMarcus.
Wow. LMA is my all time favorite player. He usually stutters during post game interviews but was actually well spoken here. Glad to see you doin good L Train!
Great player and seems like a great man - doesn’t speak ill of anyone, confident but not arrogant - clearly loves to ball. Edit - would love to hear you talk to G.O.
one of the most underrated players of all time, one of me and my dads favorites from the 2010s, but never got to hear him talk extensively before. this is awesome
I have listened to five interviews (old and new) over the past five days, and this is coolest one. I was hoping he would be more open about the Kawhi departure from the Spurs and more about playing with Dame in Portland.
@@LPjunemarkyoung man nba tv has a lot of tape on LA go watch some of it and get a hold of fukin reality diz mofuker would keep up and a lot of times go in circles against the best
LaMarcus Aldridge one of best 2P jump shooters ever! Most career 2PT jump shots (starting in 96-97 as play by play data starts then or else you’d also have MJ, Larry Bird, Karl Malone, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson there too….including Playoffs): Dirk 7,631 KG 7,086 Kobe 7,000 Duncan 5,695 Durant 5,436 DeRozan 5,256 Chris Paul 5,133 LeBron 4,923 Carmelo 4,757 LaMarcus Aldridge 4,697 Joe Johnson 4,412 Dwayne Wade 4,410 Tony Parker 4,295 Richard Hamilton 4,292 Iverson 4,264
@@cod16p Yup Joe Johnson was a very well rounded offensive player! Underrated super clutch too with as many or more buzzer beaters then all but like 3 players ever!
@@cod16p Yea Joe Johnson was good for Hawks/Suns/Nets. 47th all time in NBA Points (regular season + playoffs) and 51st NBA + ABA (22,235 career points). 03-04 to 2015-16 over 13 years he averaged 18 5 4 45/37/80
@@superdopehiphop do you know all this off the top of your head or do you have to google it? It’s pretty impressive knowledge you should make a RU-vid channel about that era of basketball
LA was a beast. Absolutely underrated and really great on defense too, most people didn’t realize he was such an impactful player on both ends. I have two LA blazers jerseys, both are treasured
"I'm happy to say I'm going home to Texas and will be a Spur!" Still remember that tweet like it was yesterday. Super perfect replacement for Timmy. Sadly didn't pan out with Kawhi getting injured and all. He's also prolly the biggest free agent signing of the Spurs. One of the biggest what if's for me as a Spurs fan. Sad to see him and DeRozan post Kawhi and u just know they aren't gonna win anything. Mad respect for LA. And thank you for choosing the Spurs.
The stories about Andre Miller are funny. I had seen him a few years ago at a San Diego Padres game in San Diego just walking through the concessions alone just vibing.
As a spurs fan…I’m just glad kawhi helped us get one in 2014…I still have his 2016 Christmas jersey…my little brother and I went to a lakers spurs game in 2017 at staples…now crypto…but overall Kawhi blossomed into a 2 way superstar and the fact that we traded for him on draft night 2011 is wild because he was originally selected by Indiana…and a young Paul George was on that Pacers squad….everything comes full circle 10 years later…
