I shouldn't play favourites, but Lamb Tagine is my pick of the tagine family! The rasa el hanout spice mix is sheer perfection with lamb, and slow cooking works wonders to develop rich flavour in the sauce. Serve over couscous for a stunning Moroccan meal!

Chef Ramy's kitchen does this similarly and is definitely Tagine cooking. Very good recipe. I cooked it in a tagine on the stove top and it came out wonderful. I used Kashimiri chili powder to add some heat, Ras el Hanout instead of separate spices, preserved lemon rinds and added Both apricots and olives and garnished with cilantro. I also used some saffron in it. 5 stars !

I wasn’t sure about the taste, but once I added the lemon zest at the end it took this dish to another level. The flavour of this dish is superb.

That’s NOT lamb tagine. That’s Indian lamb curry. Get your facts right.

Guys you need to understand Tagine is a clay pot and everything cooked in it is called Tagine. How this is called Tagine when you eat it with Couscous!!! As a Moroccan (north African) it’s so funny yet insulting to watch this. However, I would say the way he cooked the meat is guaranteed to be delicious but it’s not Moroccan to me at all. Just call it Couscous with caramelized lamb meat. Please do not mix Tagine with Couscous. Tagine is always eaten with bread and the authentic one is the one made on the clay pot ( Tagine)

It’s braised lamb meat and things often get adapted in all sorts of ways. Who is going to see this that has a clay cooking pot ready to go? Maybe 1 person? Calm your teets

@@petetown13 Okay lemme explain this. I understand the misconception here but I just want to educate people on my culture. What I am explaining is like a Chinese making a Pizza and calling it a burger. It doesn't make sense. I guess it is very important to share awareness.
@petetown13
@petetown13 8 месяцев назад
@@hajarabida5647 the only thing that doesn’t make sense is your analogy. Nobody NEEDED to be aware of your perspective. Food names are adapted across cultures all the time and this is no different. Do you run around telling Americans that they’re calling French fries the wrong thing and insist that they’re called chips? Hopefully not
@hajarabida5647
@hajarabida5647 8 месяцев назад
@@petetown13 Exactly my point. People should learn from their mistakes in messing up the names of other cultures' food just because they are too lazy to understand or they simply do not care.
@hajarabida5647
@hajarabida5647 8 месяцев назад
@@petetown13 Also this is not my analogy this is my culture and my identity as a Moroccan. Call it any name but do not use my country's name and then you call it whatever. Cuz if you come here and you order Tagine Couscous you gonna confuse everyone.

Hopefully after you try this particular recipe, you might find you prefer it more than your usual Tagine recipe. You never never know, if you don't give it a go 😊 what is the worse that can happen if you cook this one - 1/ love it. 2/ half the family like it and the other half don't 3/ you discover you can combine and omit elements from Nagis recipe and from your own recipe to find a new refreshingly delicious meal .4/ no one likes it and they demand you go back to cooking your original recipe. 🎉
