9:58 That Maroon ex Shah of Iran car had a quite a life, reportedly the Shah would maxed out the car in Tehran at night with his security details tailing him in an 300SEL 6.3, like many of Shah item during the Revolution, it was confisticated by the new givernment, in 90s an Arabian royalty purchased the car and bring it to Dubai and a Supercar broker sold it to Cage who kept it for several years before selling the car to Switzerland where it resided now.
So I asked my mom about the Shah of Iran's Lamborghini Miura (her family left in 1974), apparently the Shah's Miura was commonly known in Iran. Kind of like how Arnold Schwarzenegger had a Hummer H1.

You forgot the part where lamborgini went to ferrari to give him some ideas to make ferraris better. Enzo throuw him out of his house and told him no tracktor maker will teach him about making sport car. Lamborgine said you will se what this tracktor maker can do!
That's not the way it went as far as I know not that I was there but his car broke down and he wanted to enter a race I'm not sure if it was the panamericana or the Carrara something but it was something like that
@@brianmccadney1816 his ferrari has gearbox trouble, enzo told feruccio to learn to drive a manual gearbox first, instead of fixing the gearbox. Feruccio then used a modified tractor gearbox on his Ferrari, and it worked better.
This video lacked the SVR Jota, while this is technically a modified P400 S rather than full official model, it warrant a story of it's own. The original German owners crashed the car and send it to Lamborghini factory to repair and upgrade. It has wider tyres essentially taken from Countach, disc brakes and suspension from Porsche 917, modified body in form of flared fender, lip spoiler and spoiler that works to keep the downforce since Miura has a tendencies to lift off and premium hi-fi car system. He kept it for few years beforw selling it to Japan amd become a celebrity there, in fact it was part of Manga called "Circuit Wolf" (Where the main character drove modified Europa and later a Dino 206SP inspired car called Yatabe RS). It was restored by Lamborghini and unveiled again this year.
Someone I met from South Africa at the Silverstone Classic (in 2014 if I remember correctly) had a miura Jota replica that he built in collaboration with Bob Wallace, to each and every exact detail to get it just like the original crashed by the apprentice at that lambic dealership. He finished it just 6 weeks before Bob passed away, and got Bob to drive it. A fantastic story, and one not too well known. The car was glorious, and could be heard across the Silverstone infield.
it cant be an exact replica, since many parts were unique design made from magnesium. To even get close to the original mechanical wise you need factory support(foundry) and millions of dollars to execute

mctown972 very unique car. Had a lot of firsts in its day and one only even today. Only production car ever with a 3 Rotor engine ever. And its design is very distictive. I love it.
That burning yellow Miura died in my hometown of Acton in (west) London, UK. It was most likely going back from the H.R Owen Lamborghini & Rolls Royce service and repair centre which is less than a mile up the road from there. I always remember that painful video when passing that spot (Luckilly never saw it with my own two eyes or I would have probably considered throwing myself on it to put out the fire). That part of the motorway (A40) has actually been a Miura goldmine for me. Funny enough I saw a green SV going Eastbound last year and about a mile up the road in that direction lives an orange Miura S which sits in the window of a property development company just to attract attention to the business. The holy grail was the SVJ that was briefly for sale in the window of J.D Classics in Mayfair, Central London. I actually consider myself very lucky to have seen all 3 of the Miura's with my own two eyes, one actually being used. The sound of that V12 alone is to die for, my eyes literally teared up with gratitude to see something so rare grace the streets #THINGSTOOWNBEFOREYOUDIE #ORDIETRYING

Up to Speed on the Mercedes Benz SL class or just the 300SL. The 300SL was a masterpiece of automotive engineering of its time. It was one of the first, if not THE FIRST road going car to use fuel injection. It was primitive, but hey, 231hp from a NA 3.0L straight six is respectable even by modern standards. You would need a V8 AT LEAST to make that much power NA back in the 50s.

Miura designer is still debated, while Lamborghini and Bertone credited Marcello Gandini, Giugiaro claims that he was in fact the father of Miura. For a proof he showed a sketch that resemble Miura signed few months before his departure from Bertone. He claimed that Gandini took 80% of his design. This claimed is denied by Gandini and now no conclusive evidence on who design it. But most historian agreed it was Gandini.
no sketch to resemble the Miura exists from Giugiaro, what he scketched was something similar to a Ferrari 206 Dino yellow prototype. there is no debate on the Miura designer and you should be reported to FBI for reporting false news, already 7 idiots got the bait and believed your lies

It has the side profile.of Miura and he claimed that Gandini in fact "stole" his design. Something Gandini refuted. People can see facts and people who look for attentions like you.

My research showed that Giugiaro worked at Bertone when the Miura got the green light and he began the initial designs. When Bertone wanted to bring Gandini into the company, Giugiaro left, and they handed the project over to Gandini. He probably based his design on wherever Giugiaro left off rather than starting from scratch. I'm not sure the two liked each other, so I'm sure there's some contentiousness over the originality of the final design, heh.
