Jesus Christ, I really can't count how many amazing bands KEXP has gotten me into at this point, and here's yet another. It's really no exaggeration at this point to say that KEXP is the best source for new music on or off of the internet. Thank you for what you're doing, you are saving music for me and plenty of other people.
They were both playing on the same day on the same stage at a festival I went to in Germany a few months back. Unfortunately before Lambrini Girls went on stage, the power went off and we got to watch them successfully entertain the crowd without any power with some drums and screaming and games in the hope that the power came back, which it unfortunately didn't. It eventually came on a few mins before Mannequin Pussy (another band in the middle also had no power). You could tell that Mannequin Pussy were really pissed off and there was even more of an edge to their show. It really was amazing!
Ideologically motivated? Like how?, not being funny just genuinely intrigued. I heard mostly rehashed waffle…’maggie thatcher’ ‘gods country’ ‘god save the king’ ‘three lions’ it’s all very easy isn’t it?
Taking on entitled toxic masculinity is real. “God’s Country” is relevant to the fascist prick trying to stay out of prison by running for prez in the USA.
if y’all haven’t seen them live yet you are missing out!! seriously one of the most fun and high energy shows ive been to this year🔥lambrini girls ROCK!!!!!!!
Little off topic but did homie just say he hadn’t left the country since 9-11? Anyway they’re great…inhabiting any historical form is rife with difficulties and opportunities.
Ha. Brian said he hasn't crossed the border into Canada. He's rad & has had a full schedule of booking shows in Seattle (Gibsons, Funhouse, Lucky Liquor, etc) for 25+ years & doing the Kexp punk show. I've personally only gone to Vancouver a couple times from Seattle post 9-11 & I went quite often before. Both times were 7 or 8 years after and getting back in to the US was a ordeal. Then life got busy with work + travel, then covid & then crazy busy work times again. Actually thinking of crossing the border to see Dead Bob (ex NoMeansNo) Dec 7th in Vancouver.
Love the energy, the instrumentals and I love the politics. I just generally prefer some melodic vocals mixed in along with the punk style yelling style. Having said that these Girls have got enough to make it to the top without changing anything.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that one seems to be a) getting lots of column inches /air time and b) isn't an actual genocide yet so I'm wondering what you think the band mentioning that would bring to the debate. Or do you just want them to do an exhaustive list of everything wrong in the world in the hope that you can catch them out on something?
@@Frozen_Smoke1972 Oh, so someone is there in their first world country judging if russians killing us here in Ukraine is genocide enough or not. Cool. Thank you from Kyiv.
