Hi in WSJT-x I use Mode Data/PKt and Fake It for the Split operation as it eliminates the ALC without adjustment and saves the TX from changing VFO's and works. Thanks for the tutorial it really helped me to adjust to this Icom from my K3. 73

A couple of points: i would tend to run a bit of ALC on FT8 to iron out any frequency consciousness in the outboard TX audio path. Also, I would usually default to AGC off for FT8 receiving, to take advantage of the huge dynamic-range of the 7610, which I would have paid a lot for! Unfortunately, it seems that Icom have thrown that expensive advantage out of the window with a basic fault in the gain-distribution at the back-end of the rx.....

I have only had my 7610 for two days and I don’t believe it’s in the same class of receivers as the ICOM 7700 honestly. The knobs feel Cheap as well.It’s OK but I’m not excited about it in any way like I was about the 7700 that was hit by lightning.It’s just another radio and the 7700 was Special in every way.👍🎙

what I believe he has done is the following RX-out has a BNC splitter-T attached, one end goes back as a loop to RX-in to bring signal back into the radio and the other end of the splitter-T goes out to an SDR like an SDRPlay or RTL usb $20 dongle. If it helps - at least in the ENGLISH version of the standard 7610 manual, section 13-6 shows the RX-out/RX-in 'loop'. Imagine the filter box is actually a splitter and a third line goes out to an SDR dongle. My concern about this is what does this do to the impedence seen or needed by both the radio and the SDR.
