Contrary to many people's belief ppg alone certainly doesn't make you the better player. Spoiler alert.....half the game is played on the defensive end and lonzo is already an elite defender. Lamelo will never be an elite defender, he clearly has zero interest on that end. But I do think melo is gonna be a veryyyyy special player in the league. They both will be.

Colin Montgomery nba only judge you by your defense if you can’t get your own shot. Melo can score so his defense isn’t s big deal . Steph gets hid on defense all the time

EST94 Lol you cant compare Lamelo to Curry. Plus Curry still tries his best to guard his man. From time to time he will come up with steals. Melo on the other hand just never tries at all, just wants to look cool. He doesn’t care if his man scores on him he just wants to get on offense. All we ask is that melo at least try on the defensive side.
