B Nile people are also forgetting that he suppose to be a freshman going into sophomore year . Lavar moved him up a grade to play wit lonzo. He would honestly be the number 1 prospect or at least top 2 in that class . So yes he has a chance to be better

Young Savage I agree people need to give Onyeka more credit. If it wasn't for him rebounding and being one of the few players on Chino hills who actually played defense, they wouldn't have one so much games.
staybeastinboi I feel as if people only watch highlights and don't pay attention to the actual games. Lamelo and Liangelo literally just jacked up shots all season last year and it was Big O that had to stay in the post and rebound to make sure the ball doesn't fall in the other teams hands.
This shows how good Lavar is as a coach chew u out when u not playing up to par and stand up for u when he feeling u been done wrong. Also I think they was winning that last game too.
Melo has gotten better this summer. I hope he continues to distribute as well as shoot. He handles the ball really flippantly. He has a decent upside as long as he continues to grow in his craft.

I love watching Lavar teach kids, including his own, that quitting is perfectly fine if you dont get your way. 1. Chino Hills coach said that melo cant shoot 40 shots per game and needs to play better defense. Lavar quit. 2. Gelo gets caught stealing. Lavar demands a timetable on the suspension and UCLA does not give him an answer quick enough. Lavar says Gelo said he was sorry and that should be enough. UCLA does not agree. Lavar quit. 3. Vytautas has a terrible team. However, after reducing the playing time of the Ball brothers they go on a 3 game winning streak. Although Lavar says winning is most important, he pulls his kids because they are not playing much, Melo was not even dressing. Lavar quits. 4. 9:14 of this video, Lavar does not get the calls he likes. Lavar quits. When the going gets tough, Lavar Ball quits. Gotta love it.

Don't let the fact that LaMelo is going into his Junior year distract you from the fact that he should only be entering his Sophomore year (he advanced so he could play a year with Lonzo).
This kid is really something right now. A lot of highlights. Loved the whole sequence around the dunk. Especially given the moment. He really seems able to deliver the goods and who knows if he keeps working. Where will all the Balls be in 5years is the real question.
