I think this game proves to people that Melo isn't a selfish scorer. Sure he cherry picked for roughly 30 points out of his 92 that one game, but this game he showed he has great court vision. Obviously it isn't on par with Lonzo yet, but he's still only a sophomore and has a lot of time to grow.

Since people keep wondering why Chino Hills is still playing: In Cali most teams that really good get moved up to open division instead of playing there division section playoffs. In open division you play teams from different divisions and automatically get in the state playoffs for your division. So win or lose, they get into the state playoffs. I think every team plays 3 games in the Open division whether they win or lose. But for example, our team in Palma High School went undefeated in league 12-0, and 23-4 overall and were moved up in open division, we lost every game and didn't play a third because its pointless but we could've. We are still ranked the number 1 seed in the NorCal (Northern Cali) D4 state basketball playoffs. Now in the state playoffs, its win or go home. Chino Hills was in the open divison section playoffs, but now they're in the Open Division So Cal(Southern Cali) state playoffs because they are a top ranked team. Then the winner of the south and north will play each other from each division ranging in 1,2,3,4,5, and only northern cali has a division 6, and open division and that will conclude who will be the state champions from each division. hope this helps and wish us luck.

I prefer to see this LaMelo than the one taking like 40 three's and missing 30 of them. He's really good at creating for his teammates so it honestly annoyed me last game when all he did was shoot. His layups are also really good so that's something he should definitely use more. Hopefully he learned from that loss against Mater Dei and we will start to see more than just 3's from him.
