I had an ultra compact Ultralamina which unfortunately they don’t make any more.. I love that Mountain Hardware makes a short version, it’s amazing other brands don’t. When you have a more snug fit you’re maximising the heat efficiency instead of having wasted space that can get cold.
There are differences between the bags and different use cases for each of them! If you need more info and want to chat to one of our gear nerds, head over to our website and click the live chat button! www.escaperoute.ca/

After many years of use, I can tell you that the lamination is not holding. the outer and inner layers and insulation mat are not fixed together anymore, so it's possible that the insulation shifts. But I can't say that it doesn't work anymore... And I always loved this sleeping bag. It's comfy, and has a good temperature/weight ratio. Maybe the first generation of this sl.bag, which I have, had more strength issues in the welds, that were solved in the following generations? I also experienced that with the first generation of the neo air of therm-a-rest. The seams tended to loosen too, leaving you with a big bladder to lay on 😄 (exchanged in warranty)... I will probably buy a new Lamina, although I'm also doubting about a cat's meow from The North Face. Anyone more arguments to help me make this choice?
That is weird that there is delamination in your bag, we have never seen that before. I would suggest you to contact Mountain Hardwear's warranty department and they can help you out! Here is the link: www.mountainhardwear.ca/en/warranty/
