In germany almost every Model in This Set is a Peg Warmer except for maybe the Land Cruiser. But else every Model just fills the Pegs in Smyths . Might get the 4Runner and Land Rover soon
I'd probably get that Range Rover if I saw it, I've liked sunset-type liveries on offroad vehicles ever since that sunset-on-black livery on the original (Ford) Bronco 4x4 Hot Wheels casting in 1981.
love the range rover, it absolutely gives off the vibe of a classic paris-dakar racehorse. wish the rear was a little bit longer to be a bit more accurate but still great.
It’s good to see the Range Rover finally get the premium treatment is so richly deserves. It is becoming a crowded market with brands like MiniGT, Inno64 & BM Creations also having their takes on the vehicle. The more the merrier!
Awesome car culture off road set you got, you open up, and you reviewed congrats.👍 They're all my favorites.👍 I will be on the hunt for all 5 of those and I can't wait to add all 5 of those to my hot wheels collection.👍
Being an off-roader, I like the mix. To nitpick, the 4Runner doesn't have the TRD Pro roofrack but it is still a nice casting. I am just glad the MAtchbox 4Runers are waaaaay more easy to come by.
I know you like the 4Runner color but it would have been way better in the brighter Voodoo Blue color. That color is amazing. Anyway, cool to see the Big Air Bel Air in such a classic two toned look. Now can we get an actual ‘56 or ‘55 in those colors??
Solid set overall, hopefully I can find it. (Though, it's not Boulevard, so I have a small chance). I have to say, I'm not a big fan of non-metallic plastic wheels in premium (other than black). They just scream PLASTIC; I wish Mattel would utitlize satin light grey, metallic gun metal, and metallic bronze finishes more on their premium wheels. Some models with those plain plastic colors look FINE, but others really loose a lot of luster because of it.
In my opinion, being a collector for 30 years, if Mattel had been made the 4runner as the Chase, it would have created a madness for collectors and everyone in this hobby. That one would've been better chase, hands down.
@@Tygz716 i think it also based on how good looking is it as well, for example the new morden classic set took the altezas as the chase one although the set still has 2 new premium models🤔
Squirrel! Love them except for the Chevy. The need an Isuzu Trooper of a Mitsubishi Montero (4 door) to fill in for the Chevy. Oh well. I hope I find them :)
Isn't it kind of an new approach that Prado has painted window rims on plastic part flushed on top edge with car body? Nissan Maxima has something similar, but here I think is well executed.
For my area I see 2 probably 3 peg warmers. Everyone loves the 4runner for some reason and tri-5 chevys never last. The rest are going to be a hard sell.
I'm kinda curious why mattel dont just bring the land cruiser 80 series to the premium line, they are more familiar with the off-road theme more than the prado, but still glad mattel tried their best on the prado🙌
What's with the 4 Runner's paint jobs? The black, and now this new sort of pastel blue (which I like!) but it just looks like someone just learning how to spray paint, painted those. It's all gloppy, for lack of a better word. But I am admittedly new to collecting. Is car culture not premium? Maybe in premium the paint jobs will be better. The quality of Mr. Lamley's camera on close up just reveals E V E R Y little detail and flaw. But from 18" back, all those cars look great. But yeah, the Land Cruiser looked good, even up close!
Explain how you have the bronco casting an you stick a car into this....not even one of those off-road Porsches 911 cool stuff....😮 I wonder about the people at hot wheels, the choices they make blow the mind sometimes
These literally just hit the pegs here in Tallahassee, Florida this morning. How do I know? Because I hit all five Walmart stores just before closing last night and this set was NOT there, nor were there unopened boxes sitting in the aisles. What's sad is, I was at one of our Walmart stores at 6 AM, walked to the back and the entire set was on the pegs, the same pegs that was empty at 10:55 pm last night! Yet, three boxes were stocked last night(after closing), but for some strange reason, each die-cast was there, except the Toyota 4Runner! They were all gone! GONE! GONE! GONE! I'll let you use your critical-thinking skills to understand how every other die-cast from the set was there, except the Toyota 4Runner, especially when I was at this particular store at 10:55 pm, and literally walked through the door of the SAME Walmart at 6:00 am, got back to the toy department exactly at 6:02 am. There is no way, nada, zilch, zero possibility that they stocked them at 10:55pm and there is even less chance that another customer beat me to them, as I literally walked through the door at 6:00 am. This nonsense needs to stop!
Though I'm not much of an off-roader fan, I've always liked 4Runners and Range Rovers. I'll definitely pick up the 4Runner if I see it, since I never saw any of the first two releases. I'm on the fence with the Range Rover, because I'm not too crazy about the livery. I'll likely pass on the Prado with all of its off-road accessories. The G-Wagon would be a maybe in solid black, but is an easy pass with the over done IWC logos. The Big-Air Bell-Air will remain on the pegs.
I simply do not understand why they have a Big Air Bel Air (fantasy sedan) in a premium mix with licensed 4WD's - it is really bizarre. Surely there could have been another 4WD they could have put in this mix in place of that. Mattel rarely hit the ball on the premium sets these days.
Not a bad looking set overall I really like the g wagon, Land Rover, and 4 Runner but man the orange peel in the paint is getting really bad anymore on these models. Kinda sad the quality of these is declining anymore.
Always going to comment this, but when will Mattel address the dot-matrix prints on Premium models. Looks horrible and ruins almost every complex livery or detail on these releases. Not a disaster like it usually is in this set, but that Land Rover is rough.
The trash graphics and grey window trim is why I practically stopped buying premiums. With the way they cheapened the basics and started way overproducing RLC, it's like they have no clue.
Can not get over how poor the paint is on the 4runner. The orange peel makes it hard to really enjoy it and collect it when the basics don't look anything like the premiums. I still want them but man they are thick.
That big pilot thing ruins the Benz cast. At least they could have used different fonts or size. RR is great. I can't understand why HW premium cars are with grey unpainted real riders. This annoying trend has to stop.
Good set but Range Rover and Mercedes are meh. Mercedes is just boring to me and I don’t like when they make an exact premium version of a mainline release (Range Rover)
The 4Runner is way overrated, it hasn't been executed that well, the body on it is rough & the wheels are too forward in the arches, they haven't lined up the body & base properly
