The next mix of Hot Wheels Premium Fast & Furious is here, and while it has two repeats, it does have two new castings and fantastic version of the Alfa Romeo. So let's have a look.
The "Maxima" is apparently actually a Nissan Cerfiro, the Japan market version of the car. Which did indeed have a different look compared to the US Maxima.
That was first thing i thought when i seen it, that it looks like it was supposed to be a31 cefiro but they changed their minds in half of making it to be maxima
The Integra is a four-door. That might be why it looks different. I personally am very excited for this Integra because I had one the exact same color, and a four-door
True, and not just that but for the M3, Mustang and Integra, the locations are from the scenes the cars actually appeared in, in the films. For the Giulia and Maxima, they're a bit random.
@@longtailgt the giulia looks to be were they ditched it after stopping the truck (i could be wrong) and it just looks like the LA skyline in the maxima’s art.

For reasons only known to Mattel, the Maxima casting is actually an A32 Nissan Cefiro. Right generation, related model, but totally wrong - and a total disappointment to those waiting for this casting.
They way they did the windows is off but If you watch the movie it looks just like it. Cause the one from the movie which is Vince’s car isn’t stock it has a Stillen molded body kit. And the integra is pretty much how Mia had it
I read somewhere that the Maxima more resembles the twin the Infiniti I30 but yeah, it doesn't look like a 4th gen Maxima. I was really excited for it but it looks more like the I30.
The maxima reminds me of the 92 bmw m3 in basic/premium that had the roof being way to low which makes it look a bit off, then they did it properly with the RLC casting. Still, hope we see recolors of the maxima and the sentra which was done perfectly
In my opinion, it's either: 1. The Maxima and Integra were designed by a new designer or 2. These were last minute additions and they were rushed Integra isn't bad but the Maxima looks very off
Hot wheels did hire a few new designers from England but they are working in mainline. Not sure what’s going on with them tbh. Probably, like you said, last minute additions.
Both of those castings were leaked/ teased quite a long time ago (some time last year) so I doubt they were last minute additions. Both of them are quite bad, but I agree the Maxima is much worse.
Rims are a little too big on the Maxima, a little too small on the Integra, and the B pillars being part of the window plastic is an odd look. Glad to have those two F&F decos done officially though.
Integra tires size is more realistic, those cars won’t fit 20’ wheels. Just look at their pathetic EK9 type R, it looks like it has 21 inch wheels lol.
Standard hot wheels mantra. Oversized wheels. They design the castings to fit the wheels rather than the other way around. It looks odd when they put true scale wheels on the castings because it's so unusual 😂
The maxima roof line, A,B, C pillar are squished which make it looks off. A stock maxima of that year had a larger greenhouse, rounded windows. Maybe it is a byproduct of making a car not a full 164 or maybe HW is adding their flair on a custom maxima
I like the Alfa Romeo and I think the serpent creature on the hood is a snake instead of a dragon I could be wrong and it’s actually a dragon. I’ll get the Alfa Romeo if I do pick one of these up. I’m not a fan of flooding the line though. I’m glad hot wheels is rereleasing one of my most favorite racing cars of all time though.
The lights look smaller from the front on the HW Maxima casting compared to the real car. I was looking at the movie car and the casting looks a little off from the real car. It’s a good looking car but it’s not perfect but then again, nothing isn’t going to be perfect.
The Integra 4 door looks amazing. But, yeah the Maxima casting is disappointing. It is "off". As some have said, it looks like they carved it from the Impala SS.
The 4 Dr Integra has always been an odd looking car. I still like it. I think they did ok there but the maxima was too long and the lights were not for the American version of the Maxima.
Have to admit I'm disappointed by the Maxima too as it was the model I was most looking forward when this set was first announced. The execution of the windows is probably the most telling - Would likely have been better if the black frames were part of the deco instead of being part of the plastic molding. I think this visually throws off the proportions. Also, wheels on the Integra are definitely a little small.
The integra’s issue is the roof. It’s too high. It seems they didn’t brother to build off of the existing integra casting and started from scratch. The roof lines are nothing alike.
The Integra is accurate, people go rewatch the movie, it’s a 4 door Integra, only thing they got wrong was the size of the rims, which imo look better. The maxima does look like a late 90s impala ss. They’re gonna have to recreate a better and more accurate version in the future
Windows on the Maxima do look weird and the greenhouse too low, but that could be the effect of the windows. The Integra sedan has always looked weird to me, but larger rims would probably work better on this casting. They also didn’t fix the trunk line, it has the rear trunk line of the hatch. in the sedan the trunk cuts the taillights in half and goes down to the bumper.
the maxima from 1999 did kinda have the silhouette of an Impala if you look at it from the side profile. but with the bigger wheel arches and molded b-pillars it def looks goofy. the deco hides most of it's flaws, however I dont think this would be a popular basic if they dropped the livery.
I looked up pictures of the Integra and Maxima from F&F to see what's off about them. The Maxima's proportions are definitely a little funky. The trunk portion should be shorter and the roofline should be higher. It looks like something big pressed down on it. The Integra looks like it is lower than the movie car, especially on the sides of the car. If the sides were a few millimeters higher then it would match up a bit better.
The integra in the film was pretty poor to be fair and this is just like it. The nissan isn't as bad as you think. It's a decent representation of the film car. The window moulding is odd tho. All in all a poor mix in all honesty. Feel like it's just to get a bit more coin out of us. Oh, and the thing on the bonnet (hood) of the Alfa is a serpent. Cool video as always. 👍
I think the Integra looks alright. I always felt like the actual car looked a little out of balance in sedan form so the model works for me. The Maxima is all over the place though. The roof looks too chopped. The front of the car looks like it's been blended with the previous generation's Maxima front end where the whole car was a bit boxier in shape. However, from the side, that rear quarter panel screams Impala to me. I can't unsee it. 100% a top candidate for my most disappointing new model.
Was the sunrise/sunset a reference to Fiddler on the Roof? I'm surprised I picked up on that. Otherwise great preview and can't wait to find that Integra.
This might be one of those sets where i just get the integra im still debating on the maxima i might get it but even if it doesn't look good all we can say is that they tried there best
Maxima looks like a lowered impala. Integra looks a little weird bc of the 4 door I believe. The anniversary set integra that just came out is a better casting. My opinion is also that both of these look like some sat on the roof
Mattel apparently tried to kill two birds with one shot. Make a Cefiro casting for the Asian markets, and dress it up in F&F Movie 1 deco to finally have Vince's car produced. I'm playing along. It looks good.

The Integra is not bad looking for a 4 door. Which in real life are not as proportionately smooth as the 2 doors. I’m so disappointed by the Maxima being a Nissan guy. Looks nothing like a the movie car or even a stock one. John can you considered including the semi-premium castings in the Lamley awards in their own category. Their are so many now (F&F, Ultra Hots, Neon Racers, etc.). The Black F&F Supra has my vote if you did.
The Alfa is months old , and still warming the pegs. Literally probably two or three cases worth of alfas sitting on the pegs. Myself didn’t even pick this up because I’m not sure if I’m even a fan of it
John, can you ask why Mattel is being lazy and reissuing the same exact car that was released before? They could have at least changed the paint a little and given them different wheels. They've been doing the same with some of the 6-car packs, store exclusive sets as well as on the Matchbox side.
From the Looks Of The Maxima Looks More Like An Infinity i30 which is the more luxury version of the Maxima! Atleast that’s how it looks to me from the rear an front 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
First, the Integra is at least recognizable as that car. The issue I'm seeing is the sides of the greenhouse. The side frame is too vertical, a real Integra is almost hoop like going from the sides across the roof. Then with the windows inset so much, it just throws it off. If they can at least get the windows pushed out to the edge of the frame that will help the look a lot. Secondly, that Maxima is just a fail. I don't like saying that, but it is not recognizable as one. I thought it was something like a Chaser when you first showed the card art. The grill should be all black, not framed in body color, and the line across the headlight through the grill to the other side should be continuous. The hood should not have that pronounced ridge, the headlight lines should be parallel top and bottom not upswept and should meet the hood edge before it turns down. The bumper markers should wrap around to the sides and be thicker. Then the rear end is way busier than a Maxima and has more of an Infinity feel to it. And those molded window frames... I really hope that does not become a thing because yikes!
The Integra looks fine, it's pretty accurate for a 4 door Integra, but isn't it supposed to be Mia's Integra? I thought Mia's blue Integra was a 2 door. That Maxima though, wow, they really missed the mark on that one, it looks horrible, like they didn't even try.
Sad that the Nissan Maxima doesn't look to scale, and looks more closer to the Chevy Impala SS. ...and what's up with the window treatment, that's just weird looking!! Bummed to say the least....
Theres still tons of Maximas around here in South Africa.... & whts throwing me off is the roof line.....its to LOW ...Maxima is more boxy.. not flowy like an Impala
Is not the american Nissan maxima (like in the movie ) its an european Nissan maxima or Asian Nissan Céfiro A32 😮 By the way you have the Infinity i30 in USA that IS also the same car as the casting 😮 I dont know why they did this; probable for It to be more usefull for future casting. Me Im Happy about It because I hace a European Nissan maxima that looks the same so I Will make a custom or my car with this fast and furious maxima
There’s something off about the Integra, at first glance looks like a smashed Skyline (wheels/wheel arches too small) side skirts are massive and the Nissan looks like a Impala. What happened here Hot Wheels?
Not feeling either the integra or the maxima and those were the 2 castings I was looking forward too. The integra looks like it has a too long wheel base and the wheels look too small. The maxima isn’t good. The castling is all over the place. They both look super squashed.
At first glance the Maxima looked like a 1990’s Impala and then I had to see the tail lights to tell it was a Gen 4 and not gen 5 I guess and I own a 2002. Terrible casting. Loved the Giulia, actually all of them and I want the Bimmer.
The maxima is disappointing, it looks cool on the card against the background, but opened up i just don't see a Maxima. Is the roof chopped? It looks low, and the trunk is stretched looking. Honestly i think the wheels dont really fit, theyre a touch too big and just the wrong wheel choice entirely.. it will still sell out everywhere, but i would pass on it.
The roof on that Maxima is cartoonish low and the wheels are too big. This feels like that blue card era when proportions were ridiculously off. That's why it does not look like a maxima.
Agree on the Maxima. Very disappointing casting. It just doesn’t look like a Maxima. Not sure what they did. Hopefully they realize they made a mistake and redo the casting, because a lot of us were excited about a Maxima casting being done.
Every hotwheels castings is bigger and wider to accomodate to run on orange track. On regular, this is fine. However, it's also happened on premium cars
Maxima is a hard miss. Looks like a holden commodore or..idk. some other casting with Maxima deco. Those molded side windows are horrendous. The integra, as said, is better. But still look weird. And again, molded B pillar, not cast. Were these done by a new designer?
