Love this set. The Viper is a "Made For Track" casting with that up-turned nose. It's made for the loop, and other portions are a bit off as well, which makes the whole thing cartoon-ish. Let's hope that a redesign of the entire Viper line is coming with the new gen 1 casting you unveiled not long ago.
This set really appeals for some reason! Love the crazy neon colouring. The Civic, Golf and the Focus are especially nice! Wonder if we'll see them over here...
I have a focus rs irl and all of the prior castings for it have never been that detailed to include the taillights and RS logo so I am very excited for this edition! Good showcase!
This set has a very 1990's vibe about it imo. 2016 BMW M2 , '99 Honda Civic Type R and the 2017 Nissan R35 are my most favorites here. The new 'Double 6-Spoke' wheels should look nice on many models. I think it won't be easy to collecct all these, as certain models will probably be scalped heavily. Thanks for showing these Lamley.
Those are sweet, too bad they won't hit the pegs where I live, the security guard at the one wal mart gets all the good cars and the other the dudes in toys take em out the back door, I'm about to get a job at Wal mart just so I can keep collecting 😂
Thanks for this showcase. Been waiting for these. I like that they went half license with some Hot Wheels originals thrown in there. This is exactly my style. Loud and eye catchy designs. GT Hunter an the Viper are by far my favorites, because they are the meanest looking castings, but all the cars look fantastic. Probably my favorite designs on those licensed cars too. Never seen the Ford Focus nor that Honda Civic. look this amazing. The colors on the Nissan don't blow me away and the designs look messy, but I'll get it if I see it. Rally Cat isn't my favorite. The neon color looks great on it, but I think it would look even better on a Super Tsunami or perhaps even a Fast Fish or Velocita. Man I really hope someone brings this set over the border for me.
A cool set, I like it. Don't know if I would get the whole set and I have a feeling I'm not gonna find these if I'm not in the right place at the right time.
Lamley the Wal-Mart truck comes every Tuesday, by then when I get there on Saturday all of them are gone, I don't drive neither, so yeah that's a me problem.
They might've just decided to only make the new PR6 wheels in one size; they did something similar with the most recent The Hot Ones reboot, where they failed to make the HO wheels in a wide version and just used another wheel type with the cars that had wide rear wheels (of course, the HO wheels have been around for decades, but still). Total bummer, if you ask me.
In the UK I've found these at the toy store Smyths, they're selling for £3.99 each (about $5 US), which is £0.50 more than similar styles of mini sets (like the recent Fast and Furious non premium set, which was £3.50 per car (about $4.40 US) so I selectively only got the Civic, R35 and the Viper, had they been cheaper I probably would have gotten more.
Idk. I got the viper before watching the video and the style and casting looked super cyberpunk if you know what that is. It was the best one they had at the Walmart because the others weren’t licensed.
If the price point is $3 per, then I'm going to be extremely picky which ones to actually buy. Didn't care at all for the lack of commitment to the new wheel type, substituting PR5s in some instances.
@@blinddiecast for real this is 3 bucks yet the 55 panel ( which had a opening tailgate and bike) was $1 or all those other casting that had opening hoods were $1 now decals make castings $3 but if matchbox released this it would be the same price as regular mainlines ( vw series is my proof)
@@ajflament8012 yeah, matchbox, I have a love-hate thing with them, they lied to us when they said, most of their premiums are now going to have, metal base, lol, BS
Pretty lackluster set aside from the hatchbacks, though even they are questionable at best. Do people really like collecting every colour variation of these casts even if it means paying $3.25 a car? The EK-9 basics are great already, same the Viper and GTRs.
Does anyone know if they will continue to make new sets of these neon cars? That'd be cool, simply because I have the hotwheels neon cardboard display stand lol, and only 8 cars.. would love to keep adding.
Exactly. The 2 original cars they used here are admittedly on the generic side, but I think ones like Lolux or Flight '03 would be perfect in this style. Or, since the price point is higher, how about anything 6-wheeled that got cost-cut from the mainline?
@@SoldierSeuss they gotta make change the ratio of fantasy to licensed models bc at this point most collectors couldn’t care less about the fantasies. Idk if the stupid batmobiles have been taking up those slots recently but as much as they define Hotwheels there’s too many. And for the cars that cost more than a dollar there should never be any fantasy cars in them outside of maybe twin mill or bone shaker.
All these looks good, I've got the Golf want to get the Viper and the GTR next, the two fantasy unlicensed cars should be switched out for two licenced cars, one from premium moved onto this, one should be an SUV or a truck of some kind, a new casting of sorts or or a casting that haven't been in the mainline or premium for a long time would be cool tbh, also love they bring back the Citroen C4 Rally for this tbh, that car would look good in that art deco, maybe do a second wave of that too
They'll gobble up the Civics and GTRs and the rest will warm the pegs for months. People will whine and cry about "scalpers" not leaving complete sets and the 2 cars mentioned will be all over Facebook and eBay for $20 a piece.
One thing that I don't understand is how Mattel can make a Matchbox with moving parts for a retail price under $2.50, but these basics are around $3.50 in my area. No thanks.
I love the GT Hunter and I'm going to zonk something, it's not a realistic car and that to me is a no-no in my book. It's a way of Hot Wheels being creative I wish HW and MBX should make cars based on actual cars we see in real life not make cars that don't exist in the real world. #licensedtoycars Please reply. Luis
Mattel should keep to a class of cars / models when they bring out a set. Individuals does not matter but a set as you don’t have V8 race against 4 cylinders so bring out V8 V6 4 cylinders Turbocharged Electrics all as separate sets and promote a track for that class ( which means more money for Mattel ) and then throw a Treasure Hunt and Super Treasure Hunt in the Sets randomly. Let’s get serious here Mattel have 2 Categories The Collectors Edition and Hobby Fun Edition I know which one makes more money for them ! Mattel should have a Real Life Replica Theme and a Fantasy Theme but Promote the Race Tracks with the Theme. Example NASCAR Racing with the Cars Track Trophies Drivers T Shirts etc. Fantasy Theme with Cars Track Cities etc. A bit like building your own Car City which ever turns you on. When you build a Train Track you don’t just have One Train you build a City Train Station Trees People Cars Amomals Parks etc. Mattel needs a change and time to change the theme to suit the Collector. We could add all this to the collection and then give it a name like the Dakar Rally as a example. Plenty of themes to consider but keep it to the same class. At least they are detailing front and back in this Neon Speeders Set. 🔥🇦🇺👀🔥🇦🇺👀
I'm going to assume its 2.97 price point.. I'll prob leave these every car you pulled had something wrong on the deco missing or rub points.. getting tired of the lack of QC we have been seeing past few years. gl to those hunting though
Really like the m2 really dislike the viper. It's proportions are just wrong. Hot wheels must have better castings in their arsenal to put in this set 🤷🏼♂️ civic is decent but I just like the detailed lights on the m2 better.
jest here for the comments, so how much are these like two, three, bucks? What’s annoying about these sets like the hot wheels ultra hots , you’re freaking paying three dollars for a metal base plastic body vehicle lol.
Some will claim it's the special art on the card commanding this price. I collect diecast not cardboard, but I'm a filthy barbarian that opens everything 😉
