The next Hot Wheels Walmart Exclusive set is here, celebrating Muscle Cars. It's called American Steel and here is a look, along with older versions (sort of) of each casting. Enjoy!
I wish this whole series was released as a Car Culture set (2 sets in fact) so all cars would get full details, rubber tyres and metal bases. That would really take all these to a new level!
Saw them reviewed elsewhere and the 1961 Impala was about the only headturner for me. What DID turn my head was those display cabinets full of such beautiful little models!! The thing that I find a little saddening, is the excessive paint and daft graphics on a lot of the models, but a lack of front and rear light tampos. That green Judge is not comparable to the older one, which at least has silver headlights on the front end. That white Merc Eliminator was interesting, but WOW, the premium Merc (10:45) you showed us is an absolutely astonishing bit of kit 💗💗 I have a couple of Eliminators, mostly flame covered, but that 68 is on another level!!
This set disappears very fast, for good reason. The '72 Torino is my favorite as well, learned how to drive in one. My Mom bought it brand new, handed down to me briefly. Roman Red, 302 V8, loved that car.
May just be me, but I would love to see a 65-69 Chevrolet Corvair casting. Not the vairy 8 from 2000 (ish). An all new corvair casting would be lovely.
I really like how they do their muscle cars, that is a fantastic set. Surprisingly enough I was able to find that set here in Pittsburgh, and haven't seen them since. Thank you for sharing them sir.
Holy shit Mattel almost impressed me with a series, too bad some of the rim choices are just awful compared to the cars. Perhaps next time they might get it all right. 🤷🏼♀️
That's a really good set overall. Excellent card art too. If i had to choose 3 favorites, that would be the 64 Ford Galaxie '500, the '66 Ford 427 Fairlane and the '69 Mercury Cougar (Eliminator), but '72 Ford Gran Torino Sport looks cool too. This will probably be my favorite basic set for 2020. Thanks for showing these in detail!
This is a great video for me. I've just started collecting Hot Wheels, and I'm going to primarily buy premium cars (through eBay as I'm from Norway). I have no previous experience with Hot Wheels, and you showcasing the premium versions of the American Steel castings is just awesome. Muscle cars work really well as small diecast models.
Was a mechanic for over 47 yrs. They will never make any cars like this ever again. The scars & the memories will always be there. Its always cool to see that other people[Hot Wheels] haven't forgotten to.
this set is awesome! The best we've had in ages! Reminds me of the glory age of Hotwheels muscle :D Literally all the models are cool, my personal favourite has to be the 70 GTO, i love that casting. That GT500 looks great too
That 1970 Camaro would make a good premium if they linked it to the series "Supernatural". The two main characters Sam & Dean Winchester get a visit by their deceased mother Mary in the show. She drives a metallic Blue Camaro with two white/silver centre bonnet/hood stripes, with nice chrome deepdish rims. Now THAT would be one hell of a good idea for a premium model.
I maybe British but American Muscle cars are my love n All 10 of these are Beautiful I want them so much either the Hot Wheels ones or the actual cars I'm not fussed... Loving ya channel FULL SEND U.K.
All I can say to something like this is, F#*k Store Exclusives. I can never get to any of these stores let alone try and find them when I do. I don't have any of these stores anywhere near me. I think you should be able to buy them someplace else online or something. Unfair in so many ways.
Found one of these only. The yellow Fairlane. Great set of muscle. My first new car was a 1975 Firebird Formula 350 I special ordered from a small dealer in Pennsylvania. Wish I had that baby now!
